Mario's Story:
This takes place right after Super Mario World... Mario and his friends were celebrating Bowser's defeat, or so they think so... Then, a machine with giant arms on it with a mysterious shadow in the cockpit of the flying machine, flies down, and the machine grabs Princess Toadstool! Mario jumped in surprise and looked up into the machine... it did not look like Bowser at all! Mario said: "No matter if it's a Bowser or a not, I must a save the princess!" Mario rushed after the machine...
Sonic's Story:
This takes place right after Sonic 3 & Knuckles... Sonic has saved his animal friends and he has the Chaos Emeralds, everything was right, or so sonic thought... Then, a Clown Copter with a mysterious shadow riding it, swooped down and snatched the Chaos Emeralds, along with the forest critters! Sonic didn't see it was not Robotnik. Sonic said: "Nobody takes my Chaos Emeralds! Not even a clown-faced copter!" Sonic went off to chase the Clown Copter...
At this time, Mario and Sonic did not know who each other were...
