How does this not have a topic yet??

Discuss the upcoming paint-shooter! I'm super psyched. I traded in Kirby and the Rainbow Curse and put towards a preorder for Splatoon.

I haven't had the chance to play the testfire, but I've seen Vinny from Vinesauce play it and it looks amazing.

I haven't seen or played the testfire actually but everything I've seen of this so far looks great. The game mechanics are super creative and interesting. Hopefully it'll be able to have a thriving competitive community as well.

I saw a commercial of it. It looks rather interesting; not something that's been done before as far as I know.

I want all the amiibos, especially that squid amiibo.

I can't quite remember the last time I was so excited for a game that I wasn't familiar with. Splatoon is definitely going to be in my competitive field.

alright this game is sick i've played for a few hours and

1) singleplayer is pretty fun but it seems like its prolly pretty short i beat the first world or wtv in 30 minutes
2) everyone IS AWFUL, including japanese players who are at/near the level cap. i have a 10 game+ winstreak (only losing my first game ever played) and i have yet to switch out any gear from the standard stuff you start with. the amount of people who don't understand the game's basic concepts Is insane.
3) i wish the map rotation changed more often.

Woah, this game is real cool so far. We should probably add each other so we can do friend battles.

I have yet to pick it up today. I'm so excited! >3>

Holy shit the Final Boss of the singleplayer is great, imo the singleplayer of this game is really underrated.

But of course online is the main focus and it sure delievers.

For some reason I'm forcing myself to beat the single player before I do any online battles. Probably a terrible idea, but the single player is fun;

I have exams so I can't play this at the moment. Although it looks good, I'm waiting for it to have more content first, as I've heard it's a bit light on it. Plus I want to pay Neptunia Re;Birth3 in early July.

Does anyone know if the bonus effects from gear stack?
Like, if all my gear had a swimming speed bonus, would I swim super fast?

I've seen someone on r/splatoon analyse the strength/defense buffs, there might be different contributions on thr subreddit if you check there. But as a rule of thumb the main effect has the biggest impact.

they stack with some form of diminishing returns.

These are the rules of thumb with Splatoon right now;
-If someone else has a roller type weapon, you will be dominated. Repeatedly.
-If YOU are using a roller type weapon, you will fail horribly.
-You will always be pitted against people twice your level, with teammates that are half your level.
-There will always be a big push by the other team at the 1 minute left mark, and you will lose. Guaranteed!
