Super Mario Bros. X Forums

The way it would work is that there will be different subforums for SMB1, SMB2, SMB3, SMW, and Misc. styled graphics in the Graphics forum. I think this would be a great way to organize graphics, and it would make it easier for people to find a particular graphic to use for their project/level. It would therefore stop people from needing to sift through the entire forum with graphics they're not looking for.

Thoughts?

That doesn't seem to make much sense...
Why would we need 6 - 7 subforums just to put a GFX in? I'd rather have a subforum around contest in the general forum,

It's 5 subforums, and that's one fewer than the amount we have to organize levels.

Perhaps organize graphics by level theme? Of course we could lump some together, like Volcano/Castle/Factory and so forth. Just sucks when I gotta sift through 54 pages of stuff in an attempt to find decent desert graphics.

This is also a good idea. I'm up for either mine or this. Since this could end up with a lot of different subforums due to the various amount of level themes, some more general terms would be needed. Thanks for mentioning this Bomber!

I support this idea. I'm not entirely sure why the graphics pack doesn't do this.

Also the themes are a better idea than the style they're made in.

Well, NSMBX uses a sub-forum for Packs only so that would probably be the case if this were implemented here. Since most Packs contain many different styled graphics etc, it would be too hard to attempt to sort them any other way. Futhermore, I like the idea of using sorted sub-forums, but I'd rather see it stick with sorting by different style, not by theme. There are too many different and unique themes to attempt to sort them into categories and would probably be pointless, because the forum would still be a jumble. If we stick with style sorting, that would be the most beneficial in my honest opinion.

I like the idea of using level theme more than style, mainly because SMB3 would still be a cluttered mess. We don't need a subforum for every style in existence, but the most common ones which we have graphics for on this forum. A majority of graphics submitted is themed around SMB3 Grassland anyway so that'd be organised identically with either method.

I'd be up with either method, but I'd prefer level theme for the reasons Bomber stated.

Also, how will we go about the graphics that've already been posted? Will the mods take care of that?

I was thinking of having a forum where one sub-forum is for NPCs, one is for backgrounds and etc. But Bomber's idea sounds more better.

Individual Graphics (SMB3 Green Goomba)
Themed Packs (SMB3 Goomba Recolors Pack)
Full Packs (FanofSMBX's Graphics Pack)

XP Yeah I guess it would be. But we could try either way. They're both good.

Huh, I'm curious as to what speaks against having more subforums for SMBX-related things? I mean, it would only help make the forum more organized, right?

I'm working on a topic sorting every graphic in the gfx forum, cross-referencing to Squishy's index where packs can be found.
