Custom Music?

Okay so, I'm trying to put custom music into my levels and here is what I've done.
1. Made a folder with the level and the mp3 music file.
2. Moved it to the save location
3. I copied and pasted the name of the music text into the custom music place but there is no music playing
What am I doing wrong?

If the MP3 file has album art, an invalid character in the name, or too much multi-modal reflection sorting, it won't play in SMBX. Try putting the tracks in a music-to-MP3 converter like this and see if you can get the resulting files to play:

Would 1,970 KB work for in the editor because it still isn't playing unless there is a very long delay?

The size of the file shouldn't be an issue, especially since SMBX has been able to play 15 minute songs (~15,000 KB) without any issue. All I can recommend is try finding the song on YouTube, then use a YouTube to MP3 converter. From my experience, the resulting file will always work properly.

Did you copy just the name "musicforthis level" or the filename "musicforthislevel.mp3" and then hit the "custom" button? The ".mp3" part is crucial and if not entered, the program will not recognise the file.

Also, remember to put the music file in the same folder of the level and not in the folder of the level. Don't exactly know if you did this, but make sure you didn't.

So can I just add ".mp3" to the file name?

Not to the file itself, but to the file's name in SMBX's custom music slot.
