Forum Icons

As I've looked through this forum, I notice how with some of the casual posts, they get upgraded to have a fire flower on them over a mushroom along with some being the P-Switch, Shell, etc. Maybe I looked over it, but how does one get their topics upgraded to the fireflower, etc, to achieve more importance and what each icon truly resembles for each topic?

mushroom - regular topic
Flower - topic with more than (25 is phpbb default) 40? Posts in it. Aka popular topic.
Shell - stickied topic.
P switch - announcement

A key is a locked topic by the way, and a Bullet Bill is the "shadow" of a topic that's been moved to another forum (you won't see this much).

I moved this to the SuperMarioBrosX.org forum by the way; Help & Support is for SMBX (the game)-related questions.

Looks like it's still in Help & Support to me.

You're not wrong; I made the post before I moved it and then forgot to move it. It's done now, anyways.

That is applied in the forums (like General, Graphics, etc.) where there is an unread post.

Also, afaik a thread gets the flower if it has >50 posts.

The color of the icon is determined by whether they are new unread posts in that or not.

Goombas are subforums with unread posts, and coins are subforums with posts all read. Also, the ice flower is when an unread post has 48 or more posts, and a fire flower is a read post with 48 or more posts. Red mushroom is a regular unread post, and a green mushroom is an already read regular post. I believe everything else has been clarified above.

To p much add the latest bits, Red Shells are a Stickied with every post read, Green Shells oare one w/o read posts, Silver P-Switches are Announcements with unread posts and Blue P-Switches are Announcements with every post read.

And uh overturned shells are locked sticky topics, and pressed P switches are locked announcements. Both have red and silver variations for unread.

Maybe it'd be a good idea to have a thread that has the symbol pictures and what they mean. XD hahaha

If I may deviate somewhat from the topic, what about our rank icons? I assume they're SMBX sprites, but some of the staff like PseudoDino and Joey have FF4 icons. Are those part of the general rankset or is there a special rankset for staff members?

Red Mushroom = Super Mushroom
Green Mushroom = 1up Mushroom

Just to clarify.

It's not.

I guess if you wanted the real terms, you could look at SWY's post. But I'm quite sure people refer to a SM as a plain old mushroom.
