When I try to upload any .gif longer than 2 seconds as my avatar, here's the effects-

From URL: It loads for a long time, then the site has problems and displays an error screen.
From file: The filesize is too big.

And then I see people with really long gifs as their avatars.

Please help! If it'll help, I'm on a Mac running OS X Yosemite, and here's the image I'm trying to upload as my avatar-
I'm honestly trying to make it smaller, as well. Help is appreciated!

Use http://imgur.com/ and link it to your profile avatar. That gif is obviously too big in width, height and filesize.

Any image hosting will work.
