My favorite Castlevania game is Symphony of the night but of course, this game can't be flawless like other good games. The biggest flaw is the boss fight difficulties. If you know a trick, you can break them easily. But if you don't "cheat" Galamoth and Beelzebub kick your ass easily, but the Minotaur-Werewolf duo can be deadly too.
I remember I was having trouble with Galamoth when I fought him the first time and didn't know about the Beryl circlet, the Crissaegrim or the Shield Rod+Alucard Shield combo. And I think I've died 20 times. Beelzebub is still hard for me, unlike the Minotaur-Werewolf duo and Galamoth. (Beelzebub can't be abused unlike the other 2 fights)
Some tips/tricks about these bosses:
Werewolf & Minotaur:
semi-trick, semi-tip: have holy water or lightning stone as secondary weapon and kill one of those creatures with them. (Holy water is better) After that, you won't have much problem with the second creature.
Beelzebub:
tip: Don't cut down his legs and arms. Beelzebub attacks you by sending mutant flies and those are really big and fast. If you cut down his legs and/or arms, he will send more and more flies than before. (at first he sends 2 at once, but if you don't watch out he sends an army of flies)
Galamoth:
tip: One of his attacks can be dodged just by going under his legs by using the mist form. So if it's possible, don't use the mist except when he does that attack. If you run out of mist, you're pretty much dead.
tricks: those are game-breaking tricks, (boss-breaking, to be exact) so I don't tell them
