The Island of Dreams & Illusions

Postby Nicholas-Link » Wed Apr 29, 2015 6:34 pm

Hello Everyone! I finished this game sometime last week, and I am ready to release it out to everybody who wants to play it.

INFORMATION:

This game only has 2 worlds in it. I did this because I had a lot on mind for my next games, and I only like to work on 2 game at a time. So, from now on I am either going to do medium or short games. So, if your that type of person who doesn't like to play very long hard drawn out games, this one is for you! However, please note that as you start getting to the end it will get much harder. However, I pretty sure most of you already know that. Also, please note that I may have some slight sentence errors. If you see one... Please let me know! I make very simple mistakes all the time!

Screenshots!

I don't really want to put up so much information, but hopefully this should be about enough.

Anyway, moving on! So, you may notice that a lot of the Background Objects may seem out of place. Don't worry! I did this on purpose. And before you start criticizing me, I want to explain why I did it.

1. This was not just to be silly, it has reason and purpose behind it!

2. Whenever you are in a dream, things are distorted. So, I tried to emphasize this to a point were the player could get the feel of being in a dream, while at the same time I wanted the game to be sort "realistic".

3. You may have noticed that in some of my screenshots, the back ground is just black. I did this on purpose! This was supposed to be a sign to the players that they were in the Illusion world!

4. While you are in the Illusion world, you may notice that bosses are quite common. I also did this so I could make the player feel tense in the Illusion world while on the other hand the dream world would be more relaxed.

There, I hope that may answered most of your questions, if you even had any... However, if you still have questions, then feel free to ask me! :D

Well, this SMBX Episode looks very interesting. From what I see right now it surely will be a solid SMBX Episode once I get the Chance to Play it at the future. Screenshots Looks very nice even for being simplistic but I like simplistic design too. A level doesn't Need like over 1.000 of Background objects just to look good. Since this is a short game like it only has 2 Worlds, how many Levels are there exactly (including bonuses and warps)? Also, I'm really curious as of what the Video has in store but while I'm at School, I'm unable to watch any Videos of it because it just refuses to load (stupid weak Windows 7 PCs). I can Access YouTube fine but not by the video Players. No idea why though. It's not like it's blocked off or anything.

Anyway, once I have less Contents like Videos in my own database on my Computer, I'm gonna Play & Record this SMBX Episode fully. I just want to know how many Levels are there so I can either record this on one full part or splitted Video parts.

First off, thank you! I wasn't quite sure what people would think. Anyway, the answer to how many levels in each world-

There are 5 levels in 1 world the fifth being harder than the others. On top of that there is one resting house (Mushroom house), and a fortress at the end of each world. Finally, there is one bonus level in each world as well! So if you add up all of the levels together you get 8 levels in the first world and 9 in the second. This is because I hid a level inside another level. Alright, I hope that answers your question! :D

Ah, thank you for your Infos relative to Levels. So I can tell that a 1 part Video would be enough to go... if not then oh well, gotta have to deal with it I guess. Prepare for the future when I have the ability to Play and record it! I'm also prepared of this SMBX Episode as of what it has in Content.

Edit: Done played:
