Unable to save

At random points while playing episodes, I suddenly don't have the ability to save anymore. The pause menu only has 'continue' and 'quit', the latter of which brings me back to the title screen erasing all progress since last save. I'm not sure when it happened, but I think it stopped letting me save after I beat one level, but I was perfectly able to save and continue/quit before that.

Have you been using any cheat codes?

That would be true if he had specified that he was using cheats, but he didn't. He said it was random.

I did use a needaleaf cheat at one point (I'm pretty sure it was in a different play session too), but I was able to save after that. It was upon exiting a level that I was no longer able to save.
