Super Mario Bros. X Forums

Hi all. This Saturday, February 1st, the forums/site will be offline for upwards of about 6 hours. Feel free to use this thread for any questions you may have.

I will be improving a lot of the aspects of the server - installing better software, reducing load, and other things. A few of the things you can expect include an email server (so password resets/registration/etc. will work), different webserver software so there will likely be less loading time, and other maintenance-related things that don't have a direct effect on this community. I'll be making a ton of backups, so don't worry about losing any of your stuff.

With this being said, I strongly encourage EVERYONE to use the Super Mario Bros X. Chat on Saturday. For those who don't use it, it's a great way to connect with other members of the community. But because the chat page will be down, you must enter through here. I'll make sure that there will be a link when the site is down.

A new version of SMBX will also be released once the forums come back up.

Can you push the update to February 2nd if possible? I do nothing on the 1st, and I want to try and get a lot of stuff done before I leave temporarily on the 2nd.

Is this...for REAL?! A new version of SMBX that you were talking about in that "???" topic in the General SMBX section? Just a heads-up on this: is it SMBX 1.4, or this Super X thing that Redigit was talking about: SMBX without the Mario characters?

The only reason I would do this is if my service provider does weekly backups on Saturdays. But I will still likely do it on Saturday. I'll start in the morning and it'll likely be done mid-afternoon (EST).

Don't get your hopes up too high. Yes, it's what I was talking about in "???" but it's not a huge update with starman and playable Kirby.

But can I use the level files from the old version of SMBX?
Also will every thread and posts be deleted? Just wondering.

I actually have to ask the same things about the level files,because I have a alot of levels as well as a WIP one and I don't wanna lose it all.

Don't worry val told.me via steam that past levels will work on the new smbx

There will be no inconsistencies between levels. Everything will work fine.

Alright, looks like I'll see you all on IRC come February 1st. I'm the new version on SMBX will be AWESOME (the mere idea is), but I'm not sure entirely how high to get my hopes. Well, we'll see on the 2nd.

The new SMBX will come with my HQ sound pack and updated graphics. I've been hacking the .exe with the assistance of DarkChao and imported over 150 new graphic files in the game. It's nothing big but it's definitely something you'll want to check out. ;)

You have corrected the hammer bros? In SMBX it launches a hammer with a delay at least of 2 seconds

It sounds too good to be true...

none of this is going to be added.
The only some kind of new feature is that SMBX saves Screenshots as PNG now,because why nat.
