Deep Waters

One of my oldest SMBX levels that I still have lying around.
This was made three years ago when I was still learning how to make good levels.

Hello, I am practicing to be a level judge, so here I go...

I think your level was very interesting. I like how you have go through multiple tunnels in order to to get all the star coins. I think the layout of the level was OK. I wouldn't say it was great, because some of the tunnels were very... squishy. Therefore, it was a little hard to get around the level. Also, the level is lacking enemies. Even though you have a good amount of enemies, there still could have been more. However, if you were aiming for a easy type of difficulty then it is about right. If you were aiming for something harder, then you should add a bit more enemies around the level. Another quality I noticed it was missing, was the fact that, there were no background objects at all. (correct me if I am mistaken...) If I were you, I would add some seaweed or something similar to that... Basically, some aquatic background objects...

This level could still use some work, but other than that, I had a good time playing it and was glad I did. All that is left to say is... Keep making those levels! ;)

Can you be more constructive? "its pretty good but it sucks because you made another level" doesn't really help anyone.

This level is quite tedious. The entire first section can be removed since it's just an empty room with a warp pipe that leads to the main section. The main section isn't any better since it has very sparse NPC placement on top of having only Cheep-Cheeps for the majority of the level. Plus, there are long, winding, and empty corridors that lead to the star coins, making the level seem unnecessarily padded out. Plus, one of the star coins is impossible to get to since it's blocked by Hammer/Tanooki blocks, but there's no Hammer Suit or Tanooki Suit in the entire level. Even if it were possible to get all of the star coins, the star is placed near the beginning of the level, forcing the player to backtrack through an already empty and boring level just to get the star. Also, Section 4 has no music since you didn't include the "SMW - Underwater.wav"

Summary:
GOOD:
-Graphics aren't terrible.
-Music fits the level okay.

BAD:
--LONG, EMPTY CORRIDORS.
--IMPOSSIBLE SECRET STAR.
--SPARSE NPC PLACEMENT AND LITTLE NPC VARIETY.
-You forgot to include the level's custom song.

In conclusion: You weren't kidding when you wrote that you were still learning how to make good levels. I'd say this deserves a 1/10.
