General Youtube/Twitch/Video Thread

I barely watch them, but when I do, I always watch the ones with commentary. It's much more entertaining.

I'm pretty sure let's plays by definition have commentary, and I definitely prefer them that way. Raocow is my favorite let's player by the way, his commentary is hilarious and he covers a lot of games I'm interested in (Super Mario World romhacks and SMBX episodes).

A let's play is mostly with commentary bc without it's not a Let's play. And yeah i hear with commentary bc you gotta know how the person likes the game and so.

Yeah racaow is awesome. He's just so random and sounds like he's on some kind of drug lol.

But yeah as Darkonius said, things without commentary are Walkthroughs.

No. Walk-throughs have nothing to do with commentary. A walk-through is simply a guide to playing a game (or portion of it) from the start to the end (of desired portion). You don't even need to have a video to be considered a walk-through.

A Let's Play is a video of someone playing a video game. You can argue whether or not commentary is required for this, but gameplay is usually what lacks any sort of commentary and just shows off the game itself.

He has voices in his head, but he doesn't hear them.

Voted for "Others", because I do like let's plays, similar to Skawo's. They don't have any commentary, but they have text boxes in which he writes his text.

On that note, I also like overboardhumor even though he makes videos like once a month now and his popularity is going way down.
