Super Mario Bros. X Forums

This topic is meant to explain my plans for the next 11 months:
For the next 3 months I will be very busy left and right, so I may be in and out for that time period. This will hold back various things that I have promised for the future. As such, this will include various things listed below.

1a. The Adventures of Knux
While I will be upholding the series from here on out, I will be appointing others who can do so when I'm not around myself. A new episode will now be coming some time between now and next week. I will then make a further layout for the series' future as well as search for some new cartoonists to make episodes.

1b. TAOK Trading Cards
I have some more made, but I am going to make a handful more before I release them to the public.

2. My Art Topic
Whether or not I will actually post anything there anymore, I'm unsure. I've moved on from miiverse and have went on to bigger projects(which I likely won't post here).

3. Fan Fiction Posts
I am also making some new fanfics, though these might not be out until late May/early June.

4a. Smash Tournaments
These will rarely occur for the next few months, if not at all. Tournaments will definitely start back up by May.

4b. My Gaming Plans
As far as my gaming year goes, I only plan on getting Mario Maker, Splatoon, Xenoblade Chronicles for the 3DS, and Zelda Wii U.

5. My Future Here
This is probably the biggest part of this topic. Through the past year, my overall interest in gaming has really dwindled. On top of this, I have become busier than I ever have been, and that won't end for a very long time. I will be turning 18 this year, and by that point I will be a senior in high school, which means I will have to prepare for college. I have pretty much sapped everything I could get out of Nintendo, after 10 years. From there I will make this announcement: after December 31st, 2015, I have decided that it would be best to leave SMBX permanently, and start the next chapter of my life. I thought a lot about this decision, and I think it would be best if I matured and went out to see the world as it is. All of you have made these 5(and in the future, 6) years some of the best of my life.

...but with that in mind, I'm not quite done here yet. I still have much to do from here on out, so expect a lot from me in the next 11 months!

Ugh! Even though I don't really know much about you since I joined just 3 months ago, I don't want you to leave.

I made this decision a month ahead of time. By this point I'm sticking with that decision. Oh, and in terms of who will inherit TAOK after me will be settled in December.

Acting as if you alone own TAOK. Bomber and I have a part in it as well.

Let me get this straight. I'm not leaving now, I'm leaving a long time from now. You guys don't have to get all gussied up.
Danny, I know that. I kind of keep forgetting on account that you guys haven't really said anything to me outside of "I'll do this here and there".

Yes, but from what you said:

"Who will inherit TAOK after me" making the implications that there aren't two other people who are also working on it as well and you are doing this solo, or you are the rightful owner of it. As far as I'm aware all 3 of us (Bomber, you, and me) were given the rights to the series, so in itself we all act as co-owners to it. Unless something else was brought up that we aren't aware of, you don't really have the choice to choose who will "inherit" TAOK after you leave, if anything before anyone can inherit it, Bomber and I would have to leave.

What I'm trying to say is that you don't own the series yourself, you only contribute to it, so you do not get to make the decision by yourself to pass it on to someone else, if that were to happen we'd all have to get together to figure that out.

Preemptive apologies for being that guy to call you out, but...let me just remind y'all that nobody ever truly leaves the SMBX community. Your interest in gaming (and SMBX especially) has less to do with it - if you're really a part of the community (i.e. you're friends with people here and don't join solely for SMBX help/discussion etc.), you won't really leave.

Making a plan to leave and announcing it now isn't the best idea anyway. Plans can change, and I wouldn't be surprised at all if that's what happens in this case.

You do make a good point about that, Joey. However, as far as we know, Jordan's leaving and that will stay the same until we hear from him otherwise, but thank you for your opinion/comment.

At this point its a definite decision.

If you leave a hometown it is easier to stay away because you're further from it. An internet forum can be accessed within seconds.

It's really sad that you have to go since you were a nice user, but it's your decision so of course it'll be respected. I really hope that you have some nice last 11 months.

I guess you COULD say my posting spirit has left this community though. When I get some free time I'll probably finish up my unfinished graphics and what not, idk.

I kind of want to know who's in charge of TAOK as of right now, just a PM would be nice.

Yoshibrothers, Bomber57, and I are all in charge of TAOK as of right now. Until Yoshibrothers leaves, it will be just Bomber and I. I have some plans I need to work out right now that I have not yet shared with the others yet.

Even if you stop coming to the forums on a regular basis you'll still visit ocassionally, remember that.

About leaving the forums, I guess I respect your decision...
However, I have 2 things to say:

1. You really shouldn't stop gaming. Tons of new, interesting games come out every year.

2. Right before you leave, why not make a topic with a e-mail or anything else? It's likely that some people will want to keep contact with you.
