How alive is this community?

I have always loved the idea of making my own Super Mario levels and was insanely happy when I found out about SMBX. However how big and alive is this community? Are there people actively posting in the forums? Are there many people making and uploading new levels and episodes?

Well, I can say you that this Place surely is alive since there are a lot of posts per day. There are roughly 50% who utulizes SMBX but the other 50% is on the Sandbox Forum aka "General Discussion". It can be wrong though but one thing for sure it is surely active.

Look at the timestamps next to each post and topic. I'd say this community is rather alive. Especially if you take a look at the "Introductions" subforum.

Introductions doesn't have a "Subforum". Oh well... at least it is active in anywhere you go... except "Fan Fictions and Role Playing".

I'm in the 50% that uses SMBX.

That is nice to hear :)

For how long do you think this community will be alive? I know the Doom community is still alive and making maps in-spite of that game being a billion years old. I hope this one will last for long as well.

Well, that is pratically unknown as of how long will be still there since currently, someone is trying to recreate SMBX into a better executation file even including the Level Editor itself...

I would say this community will last a loong while,as bossedit8 said,a new editor is approaching, and along with that, new possibilities for the level makers. That and Lunadll,i'm sure they will keep the game fresh. Stick in,dude :)

Where did you gather this "50%" statistic?

Also does it matter if you're in whatever 50% statistic or not?

Talking about this, makes me think when i was a real game developer in the future. I go look to the past and i go say: "And all this begins with a Mario Engine..."

This community is really the most active forum I've ever been on, and I'm part of 8-9 forums, I lost count.

No need to be so confrontational.

I would say that half of the people here using SMBX is a fair assumption to make.
