I know im p late to comment on this but because I was busy with things and this is the only screenshot I can find recently posted in this thread that has a major aesthetic fault. Namely, the blue color applied to both the background and foreground, as it looks blended and such, creates visual confusion. You ought to use a different luminosity of blue for the background you were going for your dark dungeon.

The eyes can play tricks in the most interesting ways. I still stand by my post that you have to darken the background.
