What is your favorite Mario game?
Also, give a small description why.
Mine would be like this:
NUMBER 5:
New super Mario bros 2, it gave a lot of more content, and that golden flower tho!
NUMBER 4:
New Super Mario Bros U, Those baby Yoshi's we're a great addition to the game, so was the acorn!
NUMBER 3:
Super Mario Bros, The game started it all!
NUMBER 2:
Super Mario World, with the finally new partner, Yoshi. Mario was able to do way more!
NUMBER 1:
Super Mario 3D World & Galaxy, Both had 3D and of course 3D makes everything better! 3D World sent in the cat bell, and Galaxy was the first 3D Mario game!

My top 5 is:

1. New Super Mario Bros. (my first Mario game I've played on my DS <3);
2. Super Mario Bros. 2 (<3<3<3<3<3);
3. SMW2: Yoshi's Island (my favourite SNES Mario game after SMB2);
4. New Super Mario Bros. 2 (had some very original level design, but the music on the other hand, uhh...);
5. Super Mario RPG (best SNES Mario RPG game).

5)Super Mario 3D Land: A 3D Mario game with a taste of platforming. Now that's something that Nintendo should've done a long time ago, but the technology wasn't there until 3D Land came out. The controls are awesome, it has nice variety and the levels are very well designed (except World Crown-Crown, because this level was designed to be like a final exam).

4)Super Smash Bros. Melee: Well, it has Mario in it, so it counts. This was supposed to be a game that is fun for the whole family (even though it's rated T), but throughout the years, new techniques and skills were being discover until it came to a conclusion that it's the most complex fighting game ever made. Story aside, it's still a fun game for the family... just make sure that when you're fighting an expert at this game, do your best, but if you're not pro enough, well you'll be guaranteed to lose.

3)Mario & Luigi: Superstar Saga: This is the game that introduced me into RPG. Well, even though I almost never played an RPG, with the exceptions of Fire Emblem: Awakening, Paper Mario: Sticker Star (which is a hybrid Platformer/RPG), and the two most recent Mario & Luigi titles (Bowser's Inside Story and Dream Team) this game has a special place in my heart because of the very-well designed overworlds, battles that were executed well and the awesome story. I got as far as the final boss and never finished the game because the final boss is not one but two pains in the buttocks.

2)Mario Kart 64: I get nostalgic everytime I get to mention this game is because this was the game that introduced me to Mario. My favorite track is Royal Raceway, not only because the castle from Super Mario 64 is there, but also the track just screams variety. I don't like Toad's Turnpike very much because... if you've played Mario Kart 64 before, you know why. Also, the Rainbow Road is just simply the longest track in the Mario Kart series (and one of the longest in the video game world). Those aside, this is one great game for you to have a great time with your family, even today. But this wasn't the game that got me to love Mario (pause) as much as I do today. That game would be:

1) Super Mario 64 DS: Even though this game is the remake to one of the launch titles and selling points of the Nintendo 64, Super Mario 64 DS is simply amazing. The levels, the design, the graphics, the music... everything about this game is gorgeous. Only problem, I can't play it anymore. Well, there are emulators that can make me able to play games like this, but for the moment, I don't feel like downloading them.

*Mario and Luigi: Dream Team is torturing me but fun, I defeated Bowser Jr. a lot of times, I was level 30+ then, it was very easy.
*Mario and Luigi: Bowser's Inside Story is also great, I defeated the Battle Medley at the level 30+, the finishing move at Bowser X was at the last turn, what a relief.
*NSMBWii, first time defeating Giant Bowser was a challenge for me.
*MKWii, tried my best to improve driving skills using Nunchucks. I used Toad more often or all the time, he's my favorite character.
*There's a level editor in MVSDK2 too, but limited space and energy however.
