I know this topic is for level names not level ideas, but what about doing just that? A subcon cave where you have to dig and find the members of the original cast of Doki Doki Panic, that would be digging for Arabians at its best.

Guys... you're over thinking this... It's simple:
for example, a water level would be called "watery water waterworld"
and a grass level would be called "grassy grass grass lands" (that's been used before though)
sometimes it doesn't work, though, like "lavay lava lavaland?" so you need to do "lava lavaland with lava" or something like that
and if all else fails...just normal alliteration! (all words start with the same letter)
for example: a slide level could be "stupid slippery slide" or "stupid stinky slide" or something

Yeah, I have to admit, there's only so many Tall Tall Mountains and Grassy Grass Grasslands I can take. As far as level names go though, I like to try and take a different approach. I like to try and give some sort of visual with the level name instead of just making it sound Mario-ish. Here's a few of mine as an example:
- Midnight Walk in the Snowfields
- The Great Stone Tower
- Under Pressure in Clampy Reef (Pressure also referring to underwater pressure)
- Rampage of the Angry Sun

Subterranean Forest

Water/Castle levels:
Underwater Castle Ruins
