I think it's about time that I posted here...

Hi! I've been playing SMBX for a few years since a few years ago. I created my account recent-ish-ly, and actually posted stuff slightly more recently-er. Anyway, I first found SMBX when someone posted about it on the IncrediBots forums (just like so many other games...) And would have played it a lot more if:
1: my keyboard could detect more than 3-4 keys at a time
and
2: you could save while testing a level (sorry for mentioning this)
...
oh, and also:
3: If I was actually good at Mario...

Anyway, I have an awesome new character graphic thingy planned, but don't get your hopes up, because I have attempted this multiple times before and failed because it was hard to find sprites for certain actions (for example; swimming and pulling items from the ground) and it was hard to align the sprites in the image (hopefully that sprite-alignment tool will help)

Oh and also I have an interesting episode idea, and I also doubt it will ever be finished. If anyone else made it, I would have a ton of fun playing it... (this is not a help request, BTW)

Welcome to SMBX. I agree with you though, Keyboard ghosting sucks. Mine does that too. Well, have a good time here.

Would plugging 2 keyboards into the computer (to play with someone else) help at all?

No, but each keyboard is different, like.. I have a laptop and my keyboard ghosts, but I have a desktop keyboard that i plug it, it doesnt ghost. Of course I'm sure there are settings you can change.

Welcome to the forums!

And yes, being able to save while playing a level wouldn't hurt (even though I never felt the need for that), amd maybe it'll be implemented in one of the successors to SMBX (PGE and VSMBX).

here you can test how many keys you can press
It's not limited to just a certain number, because you can press a lot more than 3 keys if they're far apart

If you have any kind of video game controller that you can plug into your computer, it's 1000x easier to play because there won't be any ghosting, but I'm not 100% sure if you would be able to play with someone else (that's not a huge problem though)

Anyway, the character graphic thingy has sort of failed, because the hotboxes are too close to the left side of the sprite area, however, I still might try to do it with the tanooki suit sprites, since they should have more area on the left side.

Also, I changed the idea for the episode that I might make...
