Review - Wattery Forest
Level Design: 14/20
The level design was fine. The obstacle placement was decent for the most part, but it could use some more variety on the enemies used; even if it was supposed to be first level difficulty, it felt a bit too simple overall.
There wasn't much variety on the obstacles, and I'm not sure if I like how the level lacks a central idea, and instead is made of smaller, separated gimmicks; it can work if done right, but in this case the level felt rather disconnected.
I also found a few other issues, such as the unnecessary backtracking to get some of the stars (the red coins one is a good example) and the random pipe on the water that leads the player back (felt a bit confusing to me), but other than that it was fine.
Atmosphere: 7/10
The aesthetic part of the level was fine, but not exactly unique. Most of the graphics fit well with teverything else, and the atmosphere of the level overall was fine. The backgrounds' cartoonish style didn't fit well with the SMB3-styled graphics, making it look a bit odd. Music selection was fine, as the Kirby music did fit well with the level's happy atmosphere.
Score: 7/10 - Approved
This was a nice level to play through overall. Not really anything special, but it's still fun to play.
