Miscellaneous Level Contest Entries: The Crazy Cat-Corridor

Postby Imaynotbehere4long » Sun Dec 21, 2014 3:28 pm

Remember krazykat's Miscellaneous Level Contest? Well, krazykat recently gave me permission to make a hub world for the entries, and so, I present to you:

krazykat's Crazy Cat-Corridor!
Can you make it past the hazards of the tower and knock some sense in to krazykat once and for all?

That Final Boss fight is completely ridicilous. It's way to fast and impossible to dodge unless you're lucky.

I understand it's you being your nitpicky self in that screenshot, but showing a BGO error in a screenshot for an episode doesn't make the episode look good. I'm nitpicky too so I'd be bothered by that.

@ Frozen Boo: The final boss's pattern is, in my opinion, quite simple and predictable. Sure, it's pretty fast, but once you learn the pattern (which shouldn't take long), you'll be able to take him out without taking any damage. I probably should have had some sort of warning for first-time players, though...oh well.

@ FanofSMBX: That's true, but hopefully it won't be too big of a deal-breaker.

@ Turtwig: The results should also be a part of the episode.

Also, I forgot to say in the first post that all non-star exits have been replaced with stars. Plus, the "third secret star" in Graveyard Shift has been removed due to being inaccessible.

I just finished playing this, now I'm gonna tell you what I liked, and was I didn't like:
THE LIKES
-I loved the quick man based hub, It's pretty hard but relatable
-the credits were a total awwww, great job
THE DISLIKES
-you have to collect all the stars in this to unlock the final boss, its really annoying
-speaking about the final boss, the thing is impossible without cheats, as frozen boo said, even if you get the pattern down its still impossible, did you even test the speed?
-that annoying hub music
Well that's about it, I need to go to sleep since I'm going somewhere tomorrow.

Okay, there seems to be a bit of confusion regarding how possible it is to beat the final boss. Because of this, I decided to record myself beating it, unscathed, without cheating. Admittedly, since I made it, I would know the most about how it works and how to exploit its pattern, but it IS possible. If you (and I'm talking to everyone here) seriously believe that it is impossible to beat my boss without cheats, watch the following video:

That actually did cross my mind while making this, but I couldn't think of any worthwile secrets (or any secrets, really) to add for players who collect all of the stars, so I made all of them mandatory, for better or for worse.

I guess this is just an issue of personal preference, but I thought the music was quite fitting. I probably should have known that Bullet Bill 3's OST wouldn't be well-liked in this community after reading the comments for...one of mynameiseric's levels that also used a song from that game (I can't find the level; it was probably deleted), but I couldn't really think of anything else that fit, and I also thought that the original song would be more annoying.

--EDIT--

Found the level: http://www.smbxgame.com/forums/v ... =66&t=4916

The final boss bugged out for me: It turned into a blue rectangle that went diagonally up and a green cheep-cheep.

@ Murphmario:

That is an early beta version of the boss located in the hub. The actual final boss is located in a separate level, and the door that requires stars to enter (the one at the bottom of the corridor) should lead to said level. The only explanation is that the download link messed up on you which causes the door to lead to the beta boss instead of the separate level (if this is the case, try re-downloading the episode), or you cheated and moved the hub's Player Start Location to the beta section.

Oh, so that's what was wrong.

Edit: I think the download is bugged. It doesn't include the level. Tried Redownloading it, didn't help.

@ Murphmario:

The level is located inside the hub folder. The door's directory (where it says "warp to level") should say "hub/final.lvl"

I tested this before uploading it, so if you haven't messed with anything, the door should lead to the level just fine.
