This is a REALLY short level, but, It shows off a really cool level flipping concept that i would really like to be made into a full thing.

Screenshot:

The basic idea is that you hit the smw speaker blocks to flip the level, and that's basically it. When you combine this with a few other mechanics, it could work really well for some kind of puzzle level if you ask me.

Anyway, the level is attached.
THE END

You need to post screenshots with your level. If you want this unlocked send screenshots to a staff member and they'll unlock it for you.

Unlocked.

Im not sure if I did it the way you wanted...But are you supposed to:
Spoiler: show
Hit the switch, then use the springboard to get to the highest switch, then flip it again to get to the end?
If so, its a neat idea, that could be cool in a larger setting. I tinkered with the idea of a level rotating as you hit switches, so this idea interested me. You should try making it into a larger level yourself. It could be a cave, a castle, or something similar and it would be pretty neat. Maybe utilize an ice flower to have the player set ice blocks so they can stand where spikes normally would be when they flip the level?

The rotate/flip gimmick is famous for how hard and tedious it is to create. Levels made that way are therefore often well-received. Though I haven't seen one being made in a long time.

This idea would barely work. The switches flip the section, while NPCs remain in their place. It would work if the NPCs were in the exact center of the section and right above the spikes, and if the switch wasn't far away.

I don't have much else to say about this demo. It's been gone over many times already.

Yes, but chad's level used teleporting to flip the level ( i think) but this uses two layers, a normal one and a flipped one, and is easier to make/use for people who aren't experienced with complex events.

I'm pretty sure Rotating Mansion involves showing and hiding layers, not teleportation.

Nah, it used teleports. if it used layers everything in the nearby area would go poof, and the player would stay in the same location on the screen instead of moving.

While you can disable the poof by a simple tick in the event box "Smoke Disabled", you're right about the screen thing, which also makes placing stuff like enemies in Rotating Mansion far easier than in this rotating concept.

Not bad. It could be a full idea!
