If you are not aware I am in production of a Zelda total conversion of SMBX. I would like to bring it to a broader audience than just the forums here and would like to register it on IndieDB.com, full credit will still remain with the SMBX developer. In order to register my episode I need to have the SMBX engine registered on the website.

In order to do that I need some info regarding the SMBX engine such as:
1. First Release Date
2. Company name (if there is one)
3. Name of the Engine (if the game engine has it's own name such as SMBX engine or something)

If one of the moderators or Developer will contact me I would greatly appreciate it. 8-)

SMBX's creator, Redigit, left the community years ago to develop Terraria and we don't have any manner of source code for the game. You won't be able to do anything like this, sorry.

The final version of the game, 1.3, was released in October 2010 or so, don't know the exact date though and the month may be off as well.

You probably wouldn't want to build a different game engine off of SMBX anyways, it's pretty crappy code-wise (written by one half-drunk guy in an outdated version of Visual Basic) even if you did have the code.

It's an awesome game, but we don't have the source. Sorry.

That's the best explanation and visualization of Redigit during the development of the late SMBX.

It's not a game, it just an overboard episode :P. Anyways since I read there was a copyright problem with SMBX in the first place, maybe I'll just leave it here on the forums. Don't want to end up in a meeting with executives and a lawyer :?

Here we go again for the 100th time....

SMBX was cancled due to copyright law because redigit tried to make money off the game.

That's good idea, but we can't do it. We do not know codes and etc. of SMBX. But we can somehow remade it in game maker but its will have more time. And its true but here real story why SMBX will canceled Nintendo delete Redigit's smbx because he not have copyrights to make mario games. So yeah i've seen Old site of SMBX.org But he named as SMB.org and i am think what old site doesn't have forums... I am seen old site when me 7 year... Last Word: SMBX do not will be updated.

It could be really easy to remake SMBX in Game Maker, just look at this:
