Title. I adapt to whatever people need me to somehow. BTW, what are the default controls?

I think the original control input uses the "ASYX" Actions like what it used in the ZSNES Emulator.

About what I use to play SMBX, I use a keyboard but on a different setting so I can play Games very well and also play with 2 player as shown here:

So I tried renaming config.dat in the SMBX folder, and it reset the controls to default. Useful. :p

Defaults: What I normally use:

I stuck with the default controls. Jump is Z, Run is X, Alt Jump is A, Alt Run is S, movement is arrow keys. Though I changed the drop item button to Left Shift and the pause button to Space. I play an odd way, I cross my hands over, so my right hand uses the jump and run buttons while my left and uses the movement keys, I was trying to figure out why I do this but it's probably because I'm left-handed and it's more comfortable this way.

I just use the default controls. I'm used to them, if I change it it won't make things any better.

Move: Arrow Keys
Run: A
Alt run: E
Jump: T
Alt jump: R
Drop item: Space key
Pause: Enter

so I can lay my hand on the keyboard comfortably while playing.

Here's the controls I use for the 1-player.

Move: Arrow Keys;
Jump: Z;
Run: X;
Spinjump: A;
"Alt/run": S;
Drop Item: C;
Pause: . (space)

Player 1:
Move: Arrow Keys
Jump: K
Run: L
Spinjump: I
Alt Run: O
Drop Item: Shift

Player 2:
Move: 1, A, S, D
Jump: W
Run: Tab

Alt Run: 3
Drop Item: R

Logitech Dual Action set to same controls as NSMBU

Movement:arrows
Jump: Y
Alt jump: A
Run: X
Alt run: S
drop Item: N/A
Pause: Esc or Enter, I will change back and forth!

Second playe uses all of the numbers! I never set it personally!

1-st player:

• Move: Arrow keys
• Run: Numpad 1
• Alt run: Numpad 2
• Jump: Numpad dot
• Alt jump: Numpad 0
• Drop item: Numpad 3
• Pause: Numpad Enter

2-st player:

• Move: up->g, down->b, left->v right->n
• Run: A
• Alt run: S
• Jump: X
• Alt jump: Z
• Drop item: Shift
• Pause: Ctrl

Whatever the default controls are.

Moving: Arrow keys
Jump: Left Shift
Run/Grab: Left Ctrl
Spin Jump: A
Special Run/Grab: S
Drop Item: Z

I had a pretty good Player-2 setup as well that utilized "IKJL" to move around, but those controls got reset for some reason.

Same as me. I would probably fall off a cliff if someone changed my jump button. (I can imagine my brother seeing this post and changing my jump button on April 1st... )

I'm surprised I'm one of the few people who use an Xbox controller to play SMBX...

My brother's controller is set up the same way, but the chances of him wanting to play SMBX are 1 out of 600,000
