Music lenght limit

It seems that in smbx there is a limit to how long a music track can be, as, one of my custom music tracks cuts and starts again part way through instead of playing through 'till the end before looping. So, does a music lenght limit exist, and if so, what is it?

No. Sometimes tracks won't fade. It depends on the track.

Does that problem happen outside of SMBX? I had that issue too until i checked the mp3 I edited and it was wrong. Play the track outside of SMBX to see if it does the same thing. Also how long is the song.

You know, I experienced that issue when I was playing "The Great Castle Adventure" (a SMBX Episode) that the Music just dies off somewhere and restarts at the beginning again instead of let it play fully. All customized music in the "The Great Castle Adventure" has that issue but I am not exactly sure why. These Music Files can be played fully with the Windows Media Player but in SMBX it cuts off somewhere suddently. Samething happend if I want to use at least one Music in Mario Builder and it has the same result. It can be the file itself that is has something that gets away too soon and restarts. I have no idea why it happens but I just let you point it out that I did experienced that Issue for Years until now but right now I don't see any of these issues you have mentioned with most of the Music Files I have.

Almost all times I edit a music with MP3 Cutter I get this issue too. But with me this occurs with short musics.

thats a very good point. when played in windows media player it is 5:34 seconds long, but when i look in the properties it says it is 1:39 which is almost exactly where smbx cuts it off. How the creator of the track did that i dont know, but its weird.

krazykoopa told me that the reason that the musics in TGCA cut off was because there was an episode filesize limit of 2MB at the time. If you think about it, CGFX didn't exist back then, so the limit was fairly reasonable. They didn't know how to reduce the size of MP3s so they tried to use a file converter to reduce the size, and the result? Part of the music gets cut off. That's also why when you open up the TGCA levels in the editor, you'll find a custom music title called something like "09 Good Egg.mp3", suggesting a lot of the levels would have custom music but was eventually scrapped due to filesize limits.
But yeah, don't expect all tracks in SMBX to fade out just because the default tracks faded. I tried it with one track, and it didn't fade out.

TWO MEGABYTES?!? Name one episode from 2013-2014 that people like, that is under five megabytes in music! That's pretty funny!
OP: are you using a midi? That can happen with those.

Do you have an audio editor at all? If so you could try opening it in that, and if it is 5 minutes again then save it as an mp3. You could also just try to download it from the internet again if you even got it from there. Sometimes the download messes up...

If nothing else works, you could try putting your MP3 file into a "Music to MP3" converter, like this one:
http://audio.online-convert.com/convert-to-mp3
(I know it sounds ridiculous, but trust me, that seems to work most of the time)

Everything is sorted now. Heres whats weird: the music, when played in windows media player, is 5:34 seconds, and loops fine. if you play it till 1:39 (the official track lenght) it cuts part way through the melody. But after opening it in audacity (i didnt change anything) it was 1:39 seconds long, didn't cut part way through the main melody, and even had a fade-out at the end! MIND = BLOWN. (no srsly tho, What the actual f***??)
