This level was meant to be for CC9, but I ended up making another level and submitting that one instead. I dunno whether I will submit that level yet.

Diseased Disaster by Warlock

Initial Comments
I look back on this level and see nothing but wasted potential. Sorry, it's just the truth. The ideas were amazing but the level felt way too spammed, like you hadn't tested it or something.

The Good
This level had a pretty good atmosphere. The music and graphics blended well to create a suspenseful atmosphere which actually drove me to beat the level after ragequitting. The design was amazing, and the nonlinear paths kept me on my toes. The ideas were actually awesome, but that's about all I can say for this level being good, unfortunately.

The Bad
The gameplay of this level was horrible. The enemies were essentially placed without any thought, and I couldn't walk about 2 blocks without running into another invincible Poison Mushroom. It turned out more annoying than anything. The Hammer Bros were everywhere, and there just weren't enough power-ups to support this type of difficulty. This level would fit as the first level of a Kaizo/Pseudo-Touhou/IWBTG-esque episode. The later sections were actually worse than the first ones. There was a broken platform that didn't activate, a Hammer Brother standing on an area of land already protected by Rinkas, and there were frankly too many Poison Mushrooms. Literally, they were everywhere. In places where I can and can't see them. It's just annoying. I had to replay this around 15 times just to get past the second and third areas. It was also too long for a level of this length.

The Ugly
Oh, and in some areas it felt bland. As in, lack of anything but the background and the tileset. Not even an enemy (surprising considering the spammy ones everywhere else). It was just unbalanced.

Summary
This level had serious potential. The poison mushroom generator in the mushrooms was cool (you don't know how effing hard it is to get past falling enemies, do you?). Tone down the difficulty and fix the bland areas and it's good.

Score: 4.6/10

I'll review this level unless krazykat wants an approval on his review :P

Eric, I'm going to take your review bit-by-bit, and explain all of the problems with it.

If you're going to downrep me, maybe you can look at the fact that I'm trying to help him, no matter how rude it may sound.

A question block overlapping a tree? Is that really a problem?

Or maybe there's something else you're talking about that I can't see.
MyNameIsEric52 wrote:here so many bugs.
You didn't even explain the bugs.

Except apparently his level's design is worthy of a 3.5.

And if you remember earlier, you said "but design nice". So you're contradicting yourself here.
MyNameIsEric52 wrote:but many grass what up your score.
I don't even know what you're rambling on about at this point.
MyNameIsEric52 wrote:So... about graphics too many words also one word this so nice.
>too many words
>all of a sudden one word

And "this is so nice"

But his score is a 4.
MyNameIsEric52 wrote:and Gameplay not so... i can't find way in Section 3 and this so weird and this down your score also sorry.
I'm pretty sure if there was no way into section 3 krazykat would have listed that in his review as well.
MyNameIsEric52 wrote:and no needed posion mushrooms.
Uh... this is called Diseased Disaster, so...

Unless you mean they're spammy. But you're acting like it's bad because he added poison mushrooms in general
MyNameIsEric52 wrote:Music: This best music i ever seen. so i like it 9/10
>best music ever
>9/10
MyNameIsEric52 wrote:6.5/10 - Pretty Good
You averaged it wrong. He was supposed to get a 5.5.

Looks like a nice level, nevertheless. SMB1-styled levels are rare these days.

Yeah, you need some practice, Eric. Your review didn't make sense to me.
