Oh my dog, this is actually happening right now. SMBX is finally being ported to mobile. This probably won't be finished for some time, but how much space do you think it'll take up on a mobile device?

I plan to finish in next weeks. At least, all sources include WIPs, are published here https://github.com/Wohlstand/TheXTech, the project for Android Studio appears at "android-project" subdirectory.

The APK itself right now has 15~17 mb (it's universal APK, contains binaries for 4 different architectures: ARMv7, ARM64, x86, x86_64). Together with the APK, you need to have an assets archive unpacked separately. The default "SMBX 1.3" assets pack (for TheXTech) including default well-known episodes in its unpacked state has 45 MB.

You can add install own episodes from the archive or SMBX forums (compatible episodes made for vanilla SMBX 1.3, or modded episodes with TheXTech exclusive features use, you'll find some at "SMBX Preservation" sub-storage).

Right now are two users has the build and helping me to test on their devices. Confirmed work of Bluetooth gamepads, and work on the "Retroid Pocket 2" console that uses Android.
