Tired of SMBX episodes having super fancy stories, forum members you haven't even heard of, or CD-quality soundtracks ripped from some mediocre New Super Mario Bros. installment?

Well have a gander at Yumetaro's first episode Yet Another SMBX Episode!

Story
Same old, same old, Peach is kidnapped by Bowser, go save her.

Spoiler: show

Worlds
There are 6 worlds and 8 levels in each of them. Along with 2 secret levels each, an extra secret world, and one huge final level for beating all of the other levels. In total, 69 levels.
The worlds don't stick to one single theme, some change a "theme" halfway, but the levels in the world are going to be unique as possible.

There will be also towns to visit, some contain Toad Houses, places to chat with some NPCs, and maybe some familiar faces.

World 1: 7/8 Levels finished
World 2: 2/8 Levels finished
World 3: 0/8 Levels finished
World 4: 1/8 Levels finished
World 5: 0/8 Levels finished
World 6: 2/4 Levels finished
Bowser's Castle: 0/4 finished
Secret Levels: 0/12 finished
Secret World: 0/8 finished

  • Kirby's Dream Land 3
  • Spanky's Quest
  • ...and more!
Other Things/NEWS
I am accepting advice for levels and soundtrack ideas, just PM me if you want a track from your favorite SNES game in the episode.
I maybe will accept level designers further in the project, but for right now I just want some ideas and advice for levels.
I am also accepting beta testers once I am almost done with the project.

News
11/9/14: I will now be accepting 8 level designers for the project to help make the secret world, but with some rules.
  • Your level CANNOT be super long.
  • You can only make one level.
  • Before you apply, please show proof of your other work.
  • The music for your level MUST be from a Super Nintendo game.
  • No self-insertions.
You can apply for levels by PMing me.
I am also accepting help any other way possible.

Oh man, this looks really nice. However, I recommend you add more BGOs in the fourth screen, and what's up with the weirdly outlined as well as weirdly colored blue blocks at the bottom of the first screen?

Once you start designing level 69, you're screwed.

OKAY SORRY I HAD TO

Ha ha, prepare for the copius amounts of juvenile sexual humor that will fill your inbox.

The weirdly colored blocks in the bottom of the fourth screen is water. The fortress in said screen will be a water fortress.

Can be strange, but i think creative episodes that focus on Peach rescue, because they are missing here in the forums...

Well, like i can see, you are making good use of Vanilla graphics, and that's good. Anyway, good luck with your project.

Progress so far is looking great, the WIP screenshot is the first level of the fourth world, a world that takes place mostly in the sky.
