Are you talking about Garry's Mod? I'm assuming you are, so I've written some basic information about GMOD for you, otherwise just tell me what you really mean.

Anyways, GMOD (Garry's Mod) is a Video Game created by Facepunch using the Source engine. It started development as a mod for other Source games, (such as Half Life 2,) but expanded into it's own game.

Garry's Mod is a sandbox game where the player creates stuff in maps, the building style has been created in a way where the game provides you props and models, which you use to build into other things such as buildings or cars. There's no general plot in the game as you just goof around and create whatever you want, so it's kinda like Minecraft without any surviving or crafting aspects. Also, there's a limit in content the game provides, but this is where the community steps in.

This game has support with the Steam Workshop, which is a section of Steam that allows players to upload their creations so others can download and use them.
Players can use the Workshop to upload creations they've made in game, (Dupes) or creations they've made with other programs. Content such as playermodels, maps, weapons, and more are created with programs Valve developed for use with their engine, or 3rd party programs for stuff such as modeling. There are many tutorials online for developing these kind of things, so surf the web for them if you become interested in creating content.

Next is multiplayer, and this is where I feel the community is at it's strongest. In multiplayer, you can play multiple gamemodes with friends or strangers online. Many popular gamemodes include Deathrun, Trouble in Terrorist Town, Prop Hunt, and Sandbox, (of course there are many others too.) You can host servers too, but I won't go into any more depth with that as it's a completely different topic.

Sorry if there's any spelling errors as I'm trying to type this as fast as possible. Also, if you need any other help or info about GMOD then ask me or surf the internet!
Oh, and make sure you check out the sites CaptainSyrup posted (will come in handy.) Have fun! ;)
