*teleport in* MEEEEEEEEEEEEW!!!
Hi there everyone!
Heard of the Super Mario Bros X engine via youtube videos showcasing some of the custom bosses for the game and well, since I like to create games and I'm always eager to experiment with new engines, I decided to check out the engine and register on the forums. It is my hope that I will be able to create interesting projects with the engine and that my contributions will be appreciated!
I look forward to meeting the people of the community!
(I'm capable making up my own graphics and sprites and I'm not intimidated by coding. The only thing I have real difficulty is composing music ; can't do it to save my life)

I intend to! My main priority is to discover as much about the engine and the editor as possible as well as its limitations.
Reading some tutorials, seems I won't be editing the player characters but I'm wondering what are the limits to NPC edits since I've some rather impressive custom bosses.

I'd say that creativity is important in recreating Mario enemies which aren't normally in SMBX, as well as bosses. The general concepts of it are pretty cool though. I've mostly done easy stuff, but I have worked on a Missile Bill before.

Interesting...
Well, on my side, I admit I intend to begin with a project that mostly just mix up the properties of various Mario enemies. Once I've grown comfortable with the engine, I intend to veer away from established Mario enemies and start using the engine to produce fully original enemies and bosses. Which is why I'm wondering about engine limitations and how far the coding goes.
I'm not exactly afraid of limitations ; I've worked with RPG Maker quite a bit, which has some harsh limitations.
What I'm wondering is if all you do is replace NPCs or if you can actually create NPCs and assign/code up behaviours for them.

Hello everyone! I'm glad to see everyone so glad to meet me!
Well, since I just joined and only started to mess with the editor (and got the mod), I don't have anything to actually show off yet but I thought I might show some of the stuff I work on, independantly of SMB X...
A crossover project I'm working with a contact of mine, involving many characters going through the Mario setting (the Yoshi-themed variant of it instead of the more classic SMB variant)

Zero (from Mega Man) facing off with Inviso from Yoshi Story.
Here's some screenshots of our project so far. Namely, an engine test level with Klonoa and a graphics test level with Tails (screenshot show off his idle animation, which we implemented).
And progress on the game's graphic, moving away from rips and creating better ressources for our project (we share coding and graphics editing/creation duties, with more emphasis on my side on spriting and on coding on his side, though we do a little of both). Neither of us are really pros at spriting but I like to think we are progressing nicely.
And here is an independant project of mine. Project is still in the planning phase mostly but I made up enough ressources to have something to show.

The start of a grassland-type area. Background is very much a WIP. Basic HUD is done.

An interior shot for one of the game's locations with enemies on-screen.

Wow, that project looks really cool. You should create a topic for it in Video Games, seriously it looks great.
