Goomba Plains, by Yugioer

Here's how a level of an episode by me would look like. I'm not sure if I'll ever be able to complete an entire episode, but this is what I would want my episode to be like.

There is 1 level-end star and 1 bonus-star. The bonus door only appears if you have collected all 5 Yoshi Coins.

This level looks nice. I'll review it after I finish playing.

Thanks and no problem. I would love to hear any criticism for my level to see what I could do better (use of BGOs probably and coin placement). xD

Goomba Plains
Okay, First off- This is my first review, so don't expect Level judge- Level reviews.
Atmosphere
This level had a nice collection of BGO's, and they worked well with the tileset. One thing (you already pointed this out), The small bushes are kinda spammed in some areas, and I recommend not placing to many BGO's over each other. The music worked well in my opinion, it was nice and happy. one more thing, in the cave sections, I noticed that the colour of the custom slopes & borders is a slightly different colour than the original one. I recommend recolouring it. Also, I liked the intro alot.
You get 7/10.
NPC placement
The npc placement was nice, and the para-goombas where quite hard to dodge sometimes. I like what you did with the coin switches, especially when you made them move down like that. that was nice. The fact that there were only goombas didn't really bother me, since the level was largely based around them. The bonus challenge was nice, but I didn't make it because I fell off :x
Also a 7/10.
Overall score
This was a nice grass level, despite the fact that some BGO's were kind of spammed in some places. The NPC placement was alright as well.
Overall, You get a 7/10, Pretty Good
well done!

Haha, thank you Waddle Dee for the great review. It's easy to follow your thoughts and your criticism is constructive. I will definetly try to improve my spammy placement of BGOs.

Also, thanks for playing my level and I'm glad you liked it.

Great work! It was a great level, simple, yet fun. I like the 5-Yoshi Coin challenge, too, it kinda feels like you're playing NSMBWii.
The atmosphere was great, tons of colorful scenery, the music was fitting and the the CGFX was the cherry on the top of the cake. You did a great job at making this level.

Thank you for your compliments, YokoAnashiwa. This style with the bonus coins from NSMBWii was, what I was going for. My full episode will have 2 stars in every level, just like this. One of them will be a bonus challenge that only appears when you have got the Yoshi coins.

I'm also really looking forward to the Level-Judge-Review :) I know it'll take a while but I'll keep checking here.

My review of Goomba Plains:

To begin, the intro was kinda neat, even though it looked like the font was drawn in MS Paint. There's already a custom font for SMBX, and I recommend that you use that instead; I don't remember who made it, but I know it was used in Andario: Beginning and a few episodes before it that aren't available anymore. Anyway, the level: it's another average grassland level; there's not much else to say about it. Although there were occasional changes to the basic design (like having to jump up some platforms for a second, or a switch that causes coins to rocket down toward the player), there wasn't anything too different about the level to set it apart from any other Basic Grass Level. Although a secret door appears once the player collects all five dragon coins (which are just sorta there), there's no indication in the level as to whether the star or the door is the secret. I got the main star first because I thought that was the secret (it's a star, after all), and I had to beat the whole level again just to get the secret star. That may be my fault for not reading the entire post, but if you plan on putting this level in an episode, there needs to be some sort of in-game indication as to what's a secret and what isn't, even if that indication isn't in the level itself.

In conclusion: I know that this isn't meant to be anything more than your average grass level, but...well, that's all it is: an average level. I'd say that this deserves a 5/10.

I didn't expect my level to be just average. Hopefully my other levels will be much better!
