Grassy Hills

They're not that bad, but they're not that good either.

Grassy Hills

Postby Zeldamaster12 » Fri Oct 17, 2014 5:16 pm

My first second level on SMBX. I got bored a few days ago, and decided to finally work on a full-on level on SMBX. This is what I came up with. It's a simple grassland level, with a couple of nice obstacles, shouldn't be that hard.

I know it's short, but I did work hard on it, as I'm a beginner at SMBX. I would really appreciate rates, no matter what the rate is, so it can help me improve on SMBX. Anyways, enjoy. :)

Looks good, especially for a second level. I like the design, and the graphics are simple of fitting for the level. My only suggestions would be to replace the SMB3 piranha plant with a SMW one, and take out the thwomps, because they don't really fit into a grasslands level. Overall, great work!

Wow, when you said that this level was short, you weren't kidding. The three screenshots in the spoiler consist of 3/5ths of the level! On top of this, the level was really annoying. If the player doesn't use the shells to kill the Volcano Lotuses, the level becomes much harder than it should be, especially when the player has to jump over the pipe-spikes in the second screenshot. Plus, if the player misses or kills the Banzai Bill without getting the P-switch, the level becomes impossible to beat. Finally, the level is way too short to be truly enjoyable; it isn't even as long as SMB1's levels! In conclusion, I'd say this deserves a 3/10.
