The design in this level wasn't all too great. It was extraordinarily short, and it didn't offer much to the player. The gameplay was rather weak as well; while playing this, I felt rather bored, even though the design resembled games like Super Mario Bros. 3 very well and the design was nostalgic. Though, I will give you credit for how you managed to make a level without much custom graphics, since that's rare nowadays. Also, the music resembled the linearity and repetitiveness of the level very well; it was a great choice. In addition, I think you should add some kind of gimmick in this level to spice it up a bit. All I was doing was going right and jumping on enemies and collecting coins, and that was pretty much all. So for starters, try a gimmick like moving blocks, or P-switches. Just something that will make this more interesting. In conclusion, sorry if this category doesn't get a score of your liking, I just have to be fair. By the way, try to make your levels a little bit longer in the future.

To jump into criticism immediately, right at the beginning of this level, there are enemies coming straight at you, and this is something you should avoid. Give the player some time to breathe before being forced to jump right into levels like these. However, in terms of the rest of the level, the enemy placement was excellent and spread-out, fantastic work with that. I think there should have been more pipes, though, with and without Piranhas. Additionally, there were way too much coins in this level, and you could almost get a 1-up just for collecting the coins at the first half of the level when there's still a second-half, too. Lastly, at some points in this level, I felt that there was too much question blocks and bricks. May sound ridiculous, yes, but this is deemed as spam, or at least in my eyes, so tone it down a little, please. Otherwise, excellent work with placement.

The atmosphere of this level resembled grass very well and it was simple, and I like that. Overall, the level was aesthetically and atmospherically pleasing, but it could use some more background objects in my opinion. And try to use something other than grass. Try SMB3 bushes or SMB3 recolored SMB1 trees as well. Otherwise, there's not much more to say about this category, except maybe add a ceiling or something. Also, the ending goal is cartoony and it doesn't fit with the atmosphere of the level much. Find a SMB3 recolored version of it, please. Nevertheless, great job with pulling off a good, grassy, and simplistic atmosphere for a level like this.

Your total score averaged up is 5, so this belongs in the Average section. I'll send this to the judges in hoping it'll get approved and moved.
