You didn't do anything wrong, I was just asking you to ghost your inactive name so that you can change back your name and not have your clone in the chat anymore.

What we suggested was you should've done /ns ghost Waddlederp "password" so you could've ghosted the current Waddlederp that was on the IRC. IRC has something that's called nick protection. It's pretty useful and no one than you can pretend to be you if you've your nick registered, The only thing you need to do is /ns register <password> <email>.
Example: /ns register random123
zlakerboy357@gmail.com
After that you've regsistered your nick and to indentify yourself just do /msg NickServ identify <password>
It's pretty simple :P

There is no reason to post here, just ask in the chat what you did wrong.

Yes, but you forgot to say how to protect the nick, so no one can use it at all, except you.
This is how: /ns set enforce on
and if you want, you can protect it with a time limit: /ns set enforcetime <number>
in which <number> = your time limit (in seconds).

If someone's nick isn't registered then they probably have no idea what cloning/ghosting is (leading to confusion and, ergo, topics like this) - if they have an issue with it, feel free to help them out, but if it's just you that's annoyed with someone else having a clone in there then just wait a few minutes before it pings out.
