Episode making strategies?

I've just realised that it takes way too much effort and time to make levels. I can't motivate myself to continue. What strategies do you have to increase your level making speed and to stay motivated?

I've found that this is one of those things where if you enjoy it you enjoy it and if you don't you don't.

Don't worry, I have the same thing, what I would do is take it slowly, if you want to make a level create it but not the episode, and at the end add up the amount of levels you have made then think 'which of these are my best' then focus on the episode story, bosses, name etc after you done the levels then separate the levels into worlds and then do the same with your hub/world map. (Even this sounds too complicated for me... someone reply with a simplified version of this please?).

I suggest drawing a level on paper and then recreating it in SMBX. This has really helped me when I couldn't come up with ideas in the SMBX app in the past but had a general level concept in mind.

Have to agree with you here. The reason I'm still doing TGCA Remake even at the point when a lot of people would quit due to lack of motivation is because it's a remake of a classic episode - one that nearly a lot of people here played back in their early days, or the days of SMBX 1.1.2. I was one of them as well, and as I enjoyed the episode, I have a lot of fun recreating the old levels to suit the needs of SMBX 1.3.0.1, and a lot of people want me to do it as well.

When I try to make a new level, I always try to get an idea of how it will be set and what gimmick there will be. Also, Pseudo's idea is one of the best, I recommend that too.

I have no strategy for that :P I really don't care if something takes me a long time, as long as the finished product's good. However, I do work a bit faster if I'm genuinely excited about an idea. For example, making a simple lava level takes me forever, but a sunset-themed level is so much more fun to make, it ends up going way faster.

1.Play original Mario games and get some ideas from them.Same can be done with Smbx episodes.
2.Try to make a Level with a good friend via online Mode.
3.Draw a Level with Tools or on paper.

Listen to epic vgm music and then make a level that fits to that music. That's my favorite strategy.

Thanks everyone for your replies! And yeah, I agree with you FanofSMBX. You need to enjoy making levels, you can't force it. I just hope I can keep this up until the end. xD I have a lot of ideas for my project.
