implying other companies don't lose more than that sometimes
implying other companies don't sell other kinds of products, and those sales help them recover the money loss.
Nintendo is a videogame company which tries new shit, so of course everyone says "nintendo is failing omg". Microsoft and sony sell a variety of products, but they're specially good at showing off the fact that their consoles are extremely similar to eachother and have features most computers already had.

Nintendo sells merchandise too. Dont know how much money they make off that though.

That is all.
The cosmetic swaps are exclusive to the new 3DS, and not the new 3DS XL, correct?
That can't be the only commercial Nintendo has come out with. As a Nintendo fan, the main reason I want this is how it incorporates facetracking software and thus improves the 3D effect as well as the range in which the 3D effect works (which is actually how I hypothesized the original 3DS would work before it came out). The performance boost is also nice—maybe Pokemon X and Y won't lag anymore?
I also always wanted the XL but I couldn't justify the purchase since it was basically the same system but bigger. The additions to this device make it much more tempting to buy the XL, but it would've been nice if the XL was customizable as well.
Anyway about the commercial... it's awesome. Who could even argue?
New 3DS:
Pretty nice idea, but I hope they make a better advertisement than that, and I hope they allow an exchange from 3DS to New 3DS. I also hope that when you buy the newer model, they allow you to transfer all your data to the New 3DS.
Otherwise, I would buy it for ITS FUCKING AWESOME SNES REFERENCE WITH THE FUCKING COLORFUL BUTTONS HOLY CRAP THOSE LOOK PRETTY
Oh yeah, and the new speed and 3D stuff is almost cool, but THEY STAND NO CHANCE AGAINST THE COLORFUL BUTTONS OH I LOVE THOSE BUTTONS
There is a function for transferring all of your data from one 3DS to another. However, this makes trade-ins for a new 3DS impossible. You'd either have to keep the old one or sell it off separately.
