Basically, this was the merchandise strategy nintendo tried to use to sell the new 3ds model on japan.
There's several things i've noticed after watching this for like 10 minutes:
1-Nintendo knows that they need to add the colored hair/schoolgirl shit to "attract" more people
2-Pink haired gender-bent kirby isn't as bad as it sounds
3-As long as you have a cute girl singing in japanese, the song is catchy as shit.
So what are your thoughts on this? And while we're at it, let's try to find more stuff that is presented in this shit.
EDIT: this post was not meant to offend nintendo or anything, it's just a quite interesting commercial, mainly because it lasts forever.

Well in my opinion, it doesn't advertise the NEW 3DS well, cause all they really show is swappable covers, and people will be like "Is that all that's added?"
So um, do I get her as part of a bundle or...? I was a bit amused by the various nintendo characters and their silly costumes, but it doesn't quite tell me the actual features(then again its Japan. They'll get the message.)

They're desperate to stay relevant because they made a weird japanese commercial? Are you for real? Guess what, these are commercials designed for a Japanese audience, none of us are part that audience.

Well are those commercials standard for that audience? Is that what all Japanese commercials are like?
That's not a rhetorical question, I honestly don't know

that answer your question? because i know many, many more examples
Regardless of the commercial being targeted at a Japanese audience (I have no problem with the commercial since I'm very familiar with Japanese culture that this is pretty much the norm, if not more innocent), that isn't the problem at hand. The problem at hand is that what Nintenderp is relying on now is the sales of the 3DS, so they've created something to hopefully bring in more revenue, and it may or may not be a complete flop. Switchable 3DS panels. Really?
Well, sure, it may have a few people into it, I really don't see how this is going to help boost their sales all that much. Besides, I know somebody that shows off her work at my local gaming store, and she does really nice custom DS cases, though I don't know if she's done them for the 3DS yet, I would assume she has.

Actually, the plans to rake in the revenue are the new buttons, increased RAM and processing capabilities, expanded 3D range, and exclusive titles.
I thought they were just releasing switchable plates for the 3DS, not a whole new model. Fair enough then, but they should really aim to advertise the fact that it's better than the last model, not focus it all on the switchable panels. I mean, I know it's Japan and all, but sales are at stake here and we all know what is happening to Nintenderp.
standard japanese society is really very uniform, hence why their media is colorful. its to contrast with real life.
this isnt even that weird you guys, this is a celebrity endorsing a product its. its very normal and america does this too. the only difference is that all the nintendo characters get amazing lil clothes

I'm sure it's perfectly well advertised. Except, you know, the site is in Japanese.

...Nothing is happening to Nintendo. Nintendo are doing perfectly fine and the only reason people ever imply they're not is because Nintendo don't participate in Sony and Microsoft's dick-waving contest.
