Errors in my SMBX

Postby H-pyttoSS » Sun Sep 21, 2014 2:52 pm

I need help. My SMBX is having some errors that happens ramdomly. When it happens, a message appears saying:

Run-time Error '6':
Overflow

Then, it closes the game automatically. Do you guys know anything about this problem? Please help me! Otherwise, I'll never play SMBX peacefully anymore!

This is a thing that happens sometimes. It can't really be avoided due to SMBX's somewhat sloppy coding, but having too many NPCs in memory at once seems to be one cause. Just hope it doesn't happen, there's not much else that can be said.

It could be because there is either an overflowed script inside your Level that causes to overdrive the SMBX program or too many NPCs being active at the same time.

Can we get your Level that has this error so we can actually see and maybe fix it?

Well, the level which happened this error is just my level of tests. I was testing my new Custom BG (SMB3 Long Waterfall), when this happened.
But here's the link to download it -> https://www.sendspace.com/file/xz9axg

Well, after I checked your Level, it seems completly fine. Since you said that it was originaly a Long SMB3 background, the problem is it has a limit. If you make it larger, it may cause the background either to break or what you have mentioned, crash with an error message. Try to replace the background with another one that has an animation like the SMW Ghost background.

But I didn't made the Background larger. I just enlarged the waterfall, not the width and height.

I'll do what you said.
