If you want to work on a level, search me on Skype. It'd be easier.
The story might change at some point:
Spoiler: show
First of all, this episode is set in an alternate universe (maybe) where the town citizens have more personality and the princess actually tries to protect herself.
Mario and Luigi are two brothers who live in their own Pad close to Toad Town. The towns people for some reason hate houses with single doors, isolating them. Legends are carried of the wicked Bowser, King of the Koopas. He hadn't attacked the kingdom for centuries, leaving him to fade into obscurity. Princess Peach is the only one to see the beast with her very eyes and survived the long period of time 'till now. She, unbeknownst to the citizens, is actually a timeless sage who, though weak, had outwitted and defeated Bowser herself.
One day, she sensed a great evil coming from the pipe north of her kingdom, much stronger than Bowser's first attack. The pipe leads to the "Valley of Bowser", and his children, the Koopalings, have taken control over all major castles in the kingdom, leaving her very suspicious. She joins the brothers, a loyal Mushroom Retainer and a traveler by the name of Link to check things out. Along the way they meet with princess Rosalina, guardian and ruler of the Star Road, an ancient magical location which easily connects all major areas of the kingdom via doors.

Please note that I have made three other sub areas, but I don't want to spoil those for you. ;)
I know that not all levels have the background path on them, that just means that those levels haven't been started yet.

We don't necessarily have project guidelines in place yet, but we will soon. You need to figure out a name for your project.

oh my god that map is beautiful

the fat toad is funny too

some suggestion with the icy swamp might be to turn the swamp tilesets light blue? the contrast between the swamp tile set and the ice tile set is too strong...

The Icy Swamp is supposed to be going from the swampy area of the forest into the deep freeze World 6 is. But if changing the whole swamp frozen is the solution, I might try it.

The map is cool too. I like the tilesets and scenery.
Also who made the fat toad in screen 2? I think I've seen it before.

The Toads were taken from Toad Strikes Back and Toadette Strikes by Thunder Dragon of MFGG.net. IDK why I didn't credit him, though.

AFAIK he doesn't like his sprites ripped without permission.

I've got an idea for a Valley of Bowser level, called Windy Valley, where there is non-stop wind.
The source of this idea came when I found a rip of the wind sounds from SMAS:LL, supposedly ripped by BlueHedgehogMan17, and I want to use those sounds. Is there a way to make wind move you around in this game?

You could just move the default layer around and show wind background objects of some sort when the sound plays. That will give a similar effect.

Can't quite figure it out. Help?
EDIT:I can't quite get the auto scroll to work properly, because when I set the horizontal speed to 1, it gets the screen to the end the instant it starts.

The SMB2 tree in screen29 has a truck way too dark compared to the leaves. Looks good otherwise.

Reverted it's colors to the SMB2 ones.

Looks like a good episode, levels and world are good too.

You should make that toad say something more neutral rather than say "Mario! Is great to see you!" cuz in that screenshot actual player is not mario,is peach. It can be something like "Is great to see you!"

That was the Peach-bot's line, not Toads. So it stays.

1. Reduce the level size to the size of the screen.
2. Use Set Position, then it should be Set by default.
3. Put back the position of the level again.
4. Test the level.

Oh hey. Nice to see a member from Mario Fan Games Galaxy working on a SMBX Project. But why are they saying the Princess is in Another Castle joke in that snow area?

Because the Toad that you save always says it when he's rescued, because he expects Bowser to appear and kidnap Peach and her servants, but it's only a hunch. (Remember, this is an alternate universe here, so what happened in cannon hasn't happened here.)

Nice Episode! Looks better than mine...
Oh well. Anyways, I hope you do well on yours, and I hope it's a popular one, because as far as I can tell, it's pretty funny!

Sorry for not updating for a while, but I've got a new level for ya.

This is an edited version of the 8-bit style level in the Invasion 2. Gimmick is that only Mario can play through it. The other characters will have one of their own (Haunted Mansion for Luigi, a Subcon-ish place for Toad, a castle for Peach, where she is previously kidnapped beforehand, and Parapa Palace for Link, which is done, actually) "Just Mario" is pending a major level design overhaul.

Update: Did some work on a Mushroom Gorge level. No screenshots this time, though.
I also replaced the "Inside the Castle Walls" theme on the Star Road with the Comet Observatory theme from Super Mario Galaxy. I also changed Rosalina's sprite to look more like Rosalina:

As well as Luma:

Mini-EDIT: "Just Mario" and the other levels are available at the Star Road now as a bonus after collecting 9 stars in each world. They will have 1 star each, leading to the final level right besides the doors. The Toad Brigade also makes a small appearance in the Star Road.
