I'm getting these obnoxious ads here. When I check source, it goes here

There's a shifty looking app in the "uninstall a program" section, but when I try to uninstall it, it says "Module not found."

How did this happen?

Some adware program installed itself on my PC.

Stop downloading random things and you won't get adware.

Run Malwarebytes, scan your PC and remove any infected files. Scan your PC with different Antiviruses to see if they detect anything (I suggest Avast! Antivirus, refrain from using McAfee) and remove any infected files found. Run CCleaner or completely wipe your web browser's cache. Install AdBlock Plus, don't click on any foreign links or any advertisement. If the app doesn't uninstall through your web browser, try uninstalling it from control panel, and if that doesn't work, you'll probably have to find the root folder, delete it, and delete any registries that direct to the root.

If all your problems still persist, download TeamViewer 9 and try to get live contact with me whenever you can and I'll remove the adware for you, but don't resort to this option until you do everything above. If it didn't work then that's when you contact me. Try to tell me what you last installed or were last doing before the adware got onto your PC.

Actually I am currently fixing it. I didn't download a random program, it sort of came from this adware program which really likes me fsr and tends to hide in Chrome files.

Anyway I'm running a boot scan with avast. Its getting rid of virtually everything bad. I was postponing my scan but I decided to do it now. Anyway yeah this can be locked.

EDIT: It's only in Chrome. IE doesn't have this problem, but I hate IE >:(

I dunno how that works but ok. You probably downloaded something you wanted and it came with adware. A lot of places like softpedia, softonic, etc, usually have some sort of adware/spyware in there installers.

I usually use CNet.

I've never gotten a virus from CNet. The source of this one got tracked back to a Sendspace file I downloaded (likely a gfx pack from last week)
