Last I saw Notch he was making a DOOM engine out of Webapi.

That's definitely not Minecraft.

Last I checked nobody active enough in the Minecraft community has given a shit about him for well over a year or two now. Even though Minecraft was handed over to _jeb I kinda think Dinnerbone has taken over active development for the most part.

This. Macs aren't really known for their gaming community so I'm sure the few thousand people that game on a Mac *cringes* will just have to invest in a real computer. Same thing goes for Linux but I doubt anyone using that OS gives two shits about Minecraft.

Sorry that's a stupid statement. First you downplay the Mac for its apparent inability to run real games (but it's actually quite decent on a MBP, I can play Far Cry 2 with 44 FPS on my sister's four years old Mac), then you say it's not a real computer. The kicker: it is and it's doing a great job at being one.

And I doubt you need cutting edge gaming hardware to play Minecraft casually (like most Mac users probably do).

I agree with this. The great thing about Minecraft is that fact that it doesn't boast HD graphics like most modern games. It instead keeps the design simple, but good-looking.

consider what rare has done and then consider what mojang has done. i know mojang has "projects" that they're "working" on right now, but i don't see how microsoft is going to ruin a company that doesn't actually do anything. it's hardly even comparable.

Yeah, so hopefully this will turn out well. If Microsoft decides to be mostly non-intrusive into Mojang's workings I'm sure it will, but I'm not convinced it will happen like that...

I understand you don't like Minecraft and that is fine, but I targeted this toward people who like it. As for Realms, it's optional, with the way M$ acts sometimes I makes me wonder if they plan to make it mandatory...(I.E. Shut down all server hosting sites)

Mister, I have bought Minecraft. I have played Minecraft. I do like Minecraft for what it is and I like seeing it grow as a game.

How callous of you to think I haven't. That's another trap card set off.

But anyway, because everything is terrible and nothing is sacred, I can't imagine me living on without roving children going "MINECRAFT IS RUIN BOYCOTT IT" or "DOWN WITH MICRO$OFT" or other nonsense like that. 's not that M$ shouldn't have done it, it's that gamers are a lot like babies: fussy, picky, and cries whenever they don't get their way.
