I was going for a sand-ish tileset, but I changed it to fit in with my episode (spoilers :0), and I didnt bother changing the name afterwards. If you have any suggestions, lemme know :)

How your level looks has completely taken me by surprise. I thought it was going to be desert-themed, but this is great. You've taken a generic theme and turned it into something else. It truly is a splendid level. There is no clash or cutoff (that I can see) and it is a really nice level overall. There's a few secrets like the coin room above the Spike Bass, which took me a while to find a way in, though that was probably just me. You have even managed to tie in the overworld with the underwater section by simply using the lower half of the grass tileset.

Also to fix the download link use this code:

Code: Select all

Oops, I forgot:

Uh, Waddle Derp, I made the Spike Bass. Also the secret that needs the key to get to the Star (location disclosed so others don't have it spoiled), that was hard to find, I only happened to stumble upon it just before you sent me that last PM about it. It's definitely well hidden.

I will review that TODAY (don't steal this, @Kep )
Spoiler: show
It's an interesting level. For the first uploaded level here, it's really good. But you need to do some adaptations. I think you can remove some enemies in the underwater parts. And the pyramid underwater part (with an unfitting music) it's very confusing and weird. And with a lot of coins and enemies. I think this level have a great quality, but we have to modify somethings to make this better.

Gameplay - 2.60/5:
It's a very enjoyable level, except from the confusing part (you have to find the key and the secret path to go to another part and to find a star) and we can be lost in this... I think you can do a better level with a better system (without confusions). But I still think good things about this level...

Design/Placement - 2.70/5:

Design:
This have some cramped areas, confusing parts and a bad structure. But I think this have a good design. This have a good scenario too. You just have to fix some things in this, fix some cut-offs, remove some cramped areas and get a harmony between desing and placement of NPCs.

Placement:
Bad placement in underwater parts. A lot of enemies without a good distribution in a lot of cramped areas. Bad, really bad! It's the main problem of this level and I think you must fix that... (fix the cramped areas too). A lot of coins in small parts!

Atmosphere - 3.10/5:
Interesting atmosphere. Although I do not recognize this as one "underwater pyramid" level. Well... You need to change the music in the "pyramid" sections. And I think you need to adjust some things to get a better atmosphere. At least this have an unique ambient.

Aesthetics - 1.90/5:
Cramped areas; A lot of enemies in small parts; Disharmony between design, placement and some atmosphere things. Confusing doors in some parts. I don't really liked the system of this... This need a very long polishment.

Overall - 10.3/20 or 5.15/10
