Super Mario Bros. X Forums

Until a few minutes ago, I and others (KoolKat at least, and seemingly the general public) couldn't access the forums. Just curious what happened, it was pretty unusual. I couldn't load the page, but I didn't get an error from my browser either. I assume others had the same experience.

EDIT: I also couldn't access irc.stardustfields.net, but I don't know for sure whether others had the same experience. I assume the two were related since they both went down and returned at the same time.

I experienced this.

I got the error of "Server Did Not Respond" D:

Shit hit the fan for me too.
But I managed to get the site up at a small opening.

Me five. I think there's a group of users like GhostHawk, Luigifan et al that have this problem with outages. I also wonder if it has to do with which thingy you use to connect to IRC (contra distinguished or petroleum) as in if you're logged on with one you're one of the unlucky users.

There have been scattered netsplits on the IRC today, and I noticed that the forums would be down at the same time.

That says to me it's a server issue on Joey's side, since I believe he runs both StarNet and this site.

Yeah I kept getting disconnected on IRC until SMBX.org and the IRC wouldn't connect at all.

It seems that BlueHost has failed once again.

Even now??? that's kinda strange because it started to work again.

I also had this issue when I was trying to connect at the Night but sometimes I was connected but other times don't. Oh well. At least right now it works very well.

By the way, just so it's clear to Joey, this happened sometime around 5 PM to 8 PM PST today, maybe started a bit earlier than that.

Oh, it's one of those random errors. except bigger...

To clear some things up:

1. This was a scheduled maintenance window for my provider. Sorry for forgetting to tell you (though, had I read the email sooner, it still may not have been clear whether or not it would affect me).
2. I don't use BlueHost.
3. "contradistinguished and petroleum" hasn't the slightest to do with anything because our IRC isn't on KottNet anymore.
4. For what it's worth, my network can't netsplit (save for the occasional one with the services) because it's only one server.

I couldn't connect either.

Nobody could connect.

Wait, you have to keep your computer on all day?

I don't run a home server, no.
