Is it possible for Boos to merely hover off of a platform, like they do in the 3D Mario games?

You mean be attached to their platform and not fly? I don't think so I'm afraid. I don't think nogravity=0 works.

Yeah, that's what I found out. Nogravity doesn't work with Boos, unfortunately.

I speak watermelon too.. Allow me to translate.
I think he meant:
"If "nogravity" doesn't work, try and set the Boo to "Don't Move"."
Though I'm positive that will mean that the Boo won't move at all, full stop. So in theory it will hover over a platform, but it won't be able to do anything either because you've basically glued it to the spot with "Don't Move". I think there is no way to make a Boo act like how you want it to though fireflowerhour, unfortunately

Nogravity of course will not work since they don't have one in the first place.

Maybe don't move and attach it to a Disco shell with slow speed? That's the closest I can think of.
