Does midi work in SMBX? Horikawa Otane said it did once a few days ago, but I remember it starting in the middle of the song when I tried it a year ago. Which is true? Vgmusic.com has midis you can test. I can't test it because my headphones are broken so I listen to midis on my iphone.

No, it doesn't.

Did you try a midi? It would be helpful to reduce project size, so if you show me a screen of the "whatever.midi" in SMBX custom music box I'll give you credit even if it doesn't work.

MIDI quality is also generally shittier than MP3 quality because MIDI files are the raw instruments.

Sure less file size but nobody wants to use a MIDI for Christ's sake.

There's quite a few remixes on the site that aren't in .mp3. That's a bonus to the file size.

No, I didn't. It's just common knowledge that MIDIs don't work very well in SMBX.

Yeah I've heard SMBX doesn't accept anything but mp3 or wav but someone also said they were accepted. So I don't know who to believe since I can't confirm anything.

IF they not in mp3 format you can just convert them into one. There are a lot of sites doing so.

I don't think SMBX can run .wav files either.

Believe me it does. I used some in one of the levels for MidiGuyDP.
Captainsyrup: will it bloat the file size?

There were nothing but .wavs in the first version of The New Great Castle Adventure.

If you wanna use a MIDI you can give it to me and I can convert it to a .mp3 with better sounds.

It is a common misconception that MIDI music files do not work with SMBX. That is untrue. While they have weird loading quirks (sometimes the track might start at a random point), MIDIs can still be loaded by the game without generating any kind of game-breaking problems. I have used multiple MIDI music files in SMBX in the past, so I know what I'm talking about.

Would this increase the file size?

Yes.
Can you please like not do that increasing? If they sound no better that's fine.

I don't think so, mp3s are just bigger in size.
