I have been wanting to do this since 2010 but I haven't had as much faith since when Redigit ran the show. It means we're really moving forward as a community and I love you all for it, so here's your reward:

Is this a good idea? Would you come in and watch and commentate with everybody? Would you make this a fun night for me, you, and everybody involved?

This would be a stream at a designated time. The time we'll have to discuss here. I would love for all of us to break out the popcorn and laugh/cry/other bodily fluids at movies both good and terrible, both hilarious and horrible.

Thank you for replying, and reminder, this is an idea right now, I am not actually doing this unless you wanna see this happen. If so, then we need to discuss a time frame.

This sounds like a fun idea. I'd be in.

Yeah Raster, Skype doesn't sound bad, but keep in mind not everyone has Skype and not everyone has working mics *glares at you*


But yes, this sounds like an idea worth a try, I'm definitely in (if something stupid doesn't come inbetween)

Yeah, we could hold a skype call. In fact, that would be perfect, for I can then skype video call and that has like, little delay. Doing both would be perfect, skype for the commentators, livestream for the audience.

Oh and I suppose you would not need a mic to participate in the Skype chat BUT I would probably give priority to people with mics over people without. I dunno how big video conferences can get.

Wow this is amazing, I'm voting for this.

I'm starting to get a more rigid idea on how I want to do this.

-Every period of time, open up voting for the next movie. The community will vote on which movie out of 4 we're going to watch next movie night.
-Once the night happens, open up a new poll with the 3 movies that didn't win plus a new 4th movie. Movies stay in the poll until 4 consecutive nights of not being picked.
-Once we watch a movie, it is gone out of the poll for good, bar some special occasions. If it's removed due to not being picked, it might pop back up later.
-This will all work on a rigid time schedule.

I'd advise against voice commentating, sometimes people speak too fucking loud that you don't get an idea of what's happening in the movie

i know this because i've done movie nights in gmod with igno fyrus and vandarx

Hey guess who's an audio wizard and who is doing a stream where I can control how loud everything is?

I'll make it work one way or another.

(And I totally forgot that was a thing you could do in gmod.)

I could do two streams, one for one side of the world the other for the other. But I should get estimates from you, viewers at home, before I go jot down whatever.

Oh and I should point out time zones, and their importance:

I am on the west coast of America, that would put me in PDT, or pacific daylight time. If you're on the east coast, you are 3 hours ahead of that, that is, if it's 4 PM at my time, it's 7 PM where you're at.

What this means is that any time I get needs to consider where I'm at in the world versus where you're at. This is partially why I am thinking about doing 2 streams in 1 day, one in daytime one in nighttime.

Google time zones if you need a primer/converter.

Can I be in, I'm going to hopefully start living in a flat, but whatever!

Also, what about my time zone? - New Zealand. I about 24 hours in-front of everybody, so year easy for me.

Again, also can I host the skype call maybe? - I won't be able to stream it, but I will be able to host a skype group of 25.

Late to the party, I don't know if anybody answered this or not. A Skype Group can be 25 or 26 members at a time, anymore and Skype will yell at you to feed them money.

I think it's a great idea, although I'll not be able to be around if it's around something like 12 PM CST or later (although 7 PM and after might work for me). That, and I have a bunch of connection issues, so it's a maaybe
