Yes, the third in The Great Empire series is here!



You may be wondering why it's out now all of a sudden. Well, I cancelled TGE3 and started work on another episode, and in the end I just put it all together.
There isn't a whole lot to say other than enjoy, really.

Note; this was made with smbx 1.3.0.1, for best results play it with that.

Okay, joking aside I think I'm going to enjoy this looking at the screenshots.

"File not Found" is a self-explanatory error because SMBX didn't reconizes the path to the Levels File. Either the Level's Link was not correctly typed in, the level's data was not correctly typed in or the file wasn't included in this SMBX Episode at all.

The Great Impire 3, Renaming: The Great Episode 3! Cool episode, i already finalized it.

Holy crap, Knux/whoever suddenly finished it; you have REALLY done it this time!

This episode seems pretty neat, and I was really enjoying it for a while, until I reached course 4, which was a bit of a glitchy stage.

First of all, it has no music. Secondly, if you die on the stage, the water geysers don't activate, so they're stuck in the upmost position. This leaves you with the option of simply not trying for one of the stars that requires them, or quitting out of the game to try again.

Course 5 turns it up to 11, by downright not being there. Soon as you enter the stage, I get a file not found error, and SMBX closes. It was pointed out to me that renaming "Forest 1.lvl" and the "Forest 1" folder to "Forest1.lvl" and "Forest1", respectively - Note the spaces removed - resolves this. I thought I could deal with this, only to find out that Course 7 also has a file not found. And course 9.

Was this even tested at all? It's a featured episode and it's a broken mess right out of the box. I understand that glitches happen here and there, but these are game breaking problems that make this a really unpleasant thing to even attempt to play.

Also, not a huge deal, but it comes with a save file with partial progress for some reason, which is sort of weird I guess.

Is there any hope for a version of this that isn't riddled with bugs, or should I just seek out other episodes that actually work?

To give you a little background, Virus610, this episode would probably be featured even if it was shittier than Challenge Castle (sorry, inside joke) just because it's an episode in this series. The Great Empire series was created by Knux, a former long-standing member of this community who was community leader for several years, and is now pretty much gone. It's really well known and this entry in particular has been long-awaited. Even if it's not a well-formatted episode, it's an important one.

So yeah, like sorry this is shitty but it's not going to get updated at least by the original creator. That's too bad though, Knux really screwed up the world map it seems.
