Sonic Games Discussion

Sonic is a really underrated series in my opinion. Most Sonic games are really fun and the gimmicks are original and fresh. However, I've always wondered what other people thought of this series. I'll leave a poll for you to vote on, and I'll try to create a new poll every month (ex. month 1 ask how much you like sonic, month two list five sonic games and see what you like the best, month 3 ask what sonic games you want to get released in the future, and so on).

As for me? I've only played a few Sonic games, and I enjoyed them.

So, discuss and answer the poll, please.

I tecnically played only a few of them and somewhat enjoyed them too. It isn't my favourite though.

A friend and I used to be really into the Sonic Adventure 2 Battle multiplayer. The balance is completely broken especially in race and hunting modes but it's still really fun to play. Sonic Adventure 2 was a pretty good game in general.

Sonic is my 4th favourite gaming franchise followed up by Super Monkey Ball, Super Mario, and Kirby.

Even though I HATE Secret Rings.

I only played the classic games (in an emulator) and I enjoyed them.

Not my favorite game series, but I still enjoy it. I've played the first one, although I didn't beat it fully, got stuck on the Labyrinth Zone Act 2. Also, I've played Sonic Heroes on the Gamecube, and really loved it. I beat it about 3 times, and got nearly all A ranks. Sonic Heroes is one of my favorites on the Gamecube.

The first 3 games (Sonic 1, Sonic 2, Sonic 3 & Knuckles) were awesome and explosive. I've never played the dreamcast games, but I have played Shadow the Hedgehog and Sonic '06. Those games were "Masterpieces" (Sarcasam). They were some of the worst games I've ever played. The newer games are redeeming the series.

Well I thought Shadow the Hedgehog was fun. The story was terrible, but I dont play Sonic games for their story so I didnt care about that.

Not counting the classics, my favorite game would have to be Sonic Colors, since the wisp powers are pretty interesting.

The Sonic Rush games are pretty fun as well.

I'm a pretty huge Sonic fan myself. The classics really were the series' golden age, and I personally view Sonic CD as the best Sonic game ever made. Obviously, the series has had its ups and downs, but generally, Sonic games are quite fun. I would honestly go so far as to say that the series gets hated on a lot for pointless reasons.
