This is a project I have been working on for a very long time now, and I've decided to finally share it with everyone.
I have re-textured pretty much every main block, tile, creature, etc. to look like they did in the very first SMB game.
This has taken me quite some time, and I hope you all appreciate the amount of effort I put into the retexturing and the test levels.
UPDATED! Lots and lots of new textures, new levels, the works! See if you can get all 8 stars!
Version: 1.1!
Changes in recent version:
+Added retro textures for upside-down piranha plant and dead koopa shells. Thanks for pointing those out, Cloth pocket!
Some screenshots:

Enjoy!

Shouldn't this go to graphics? It looks like the GFX are the main focus of this.
One thing, the SMB2 door loooks misplaced. But the slopes look pretty good, they're not just straight lines.

It will be in graphics, when im done with it. This is the post for the levels I'm designing for it.
Also, since the time this post was written ive added a dozen more retextures to the current version, including the door. Once I add a dozen more I'll update the link.

It was good I liked the 8-bit graphics in this
But I did find a few errors, In the underground stage I found this:
and also the piranha plants looked out of place.

Yikes! You're right! I'll fix those in version 1.1.

Wait, if this is actually multiple levels linked by a WLD file, shouldn't this go under "Episodes"? Eh, whatever. Also, you sprite-swapped the SMB3 Koopas' effects instead of the SMB1 Koopas' effects; you should have swapped effects 95 and 96 as opposed to 8 and 9. Also, Mario's leftward animation is incorrect.
Anyway, this consists of some very short levels with very simple designs. I'd probably give this a low average score if it weren't for the fact that the episode is impossible to beat. You forgot to add an entrance warp for the pipe in the Warp Zone inspired area, meaning the second star in level 2 can't be collected. Since you require the player to collect a star that can't be collected in order to proceed, you clearly didn't test this, if it wasn't already evidenced by the included save file that only has one level completed.
Because this is impossible, I'm giving this episode a 1/10 (you got one point because it at least seemed like you put effort into this).

I like the concept and creativity in the first two levels I played but I found some errors with the level design. Maybe for the first level you should lengthen the level and have the star at the end of it and not in the middle of section 2. For the second level you need to fix the pipe in the secret area of the level or to be more specific the second pipe that should lead to the next section.
