Alright now let me get straight to the point here. The SMBX Community Aswell as the latest smbx download should now be on speedy share. Speedy share is a quick and easy way to share files, no ads no nothing. I'm tired of clicking downloads on media fire and some dumb virus download manager ad pops up. I almost sometimes mistakenly click on them and my browser has slowed down a bit. I think it could be worse, one click on these ads can install potential and unwanted programs on your pc.

THE DOWNLOAD MANAGER IS A FAKE, ITS JUST MALWARE.

People with very little knowledge in computers and viruses are likely to click on these links and install viruse on their parents or their computers. Potentially ruining their lives. So let us use safe downloading sites like drop box or speedy share. Media fire is the last thing we want to use.

also, we should blacklist some filehosts. Sendspace is the spawn of satan and the uninformed like most of yall here are gonna be hitting the wrong links and getting so many viruses lol.

I've downloaded from a myriad of sites and never gotten a virus. I mean, I can sympathise with a few people being young enough not to tell the difference, but... what are those people doing on the net in the first place? Where are their parents? The bottom line is, why is it our responsibility to stop kids from not knowing to tell the difference between the file they requested and what they're actually receiving?

I'm all for preventing harm, but babying people doesn't keep them from harm, it just prolongs the inevitable. Teach them the difference, don't hide it from them.

Use AdBlock. (Iirc sometimes it didn't load a captcha if I used AdBlock, but that only happens ~5% of the time).

I've noticed that sending unpacked lvl files trough media fire can change the contents of the file into some html code. Not sure why they would even do something like that.

Who would send just .lvl files? These would be the super-vanilla files.

Why can't we just ignore all those Ads and just download these files anyway? It isn't hard in general once you get used to it. I often encounter MediaFire and SendSpace and no Viruses, no bad files what so ever.

Thats a good way Mudkip and I'll likely use it but, that's not going to prevent others from making mistakes.

Viruses are a real threat, and kids don't have to mistakenly get one and possibly ruin their parents lives over them, just to learn about how easily they can infect your computers. Some hackers are smart, and make very slick virus ads. Some even catch non ameature computer programmers off guard. Mediafire isn't safe period and the forums shouldn't be using it. There's really no problem with speedy share. And like maple said sends pace is the spas of Satan.

You guys have no idea how many times I infected my mothers computer back in the day because of you guys download sites. Lol.

That doesn't work. For some reason the ads only show up right when you click the download button.

i believe files expire after a few months, though

but otherwise, it's great. no adds, at least i think there's any adds.

Forgot that drop box expires, so let's not use that. Speedy share is a quick and easy method.

Like I said, not everyone is going to ignore it. Some people are not that knowledgeable tech-wise and you are going to have to accept that. Please just update the download links on the smbx download and tell everyone to use speedy share...
This website is slowing down my computer, one mistake click and they are installed.
One does not simply " ignore " ads when they pop up in your face extremely unexpectedly and then you click it accidentally.

We can't eliminate everything that MIGHT be a treat. Midkip's idea is good, and if people don't know "how to Internet" we should teach them instead of eliminating any possible treat.

We're keeping the downloads at MediaFire. I'll see if I can do a direct link, but if it expires we'll go back to the way we're doing it right now.

I appreciate it but why don't you guys just use speedy share.

What do you guys against those. It seems you guys don't really care about people's compunters getting infected.
Because there is no reason to use media fire.

If people's computers get infected from clicking on the wrong link, it's kinda their own fault.
