Little Problem with Background Objects

Hey everyone. I began playing SMBX several years ago. I recently picked it up again, so I'm obviously a bit rusty. This may sound pretty dumb, so forgive me. Anyway, I've been working on an SMBX level. I'm using a custom brick background tile to fill in the wall of a dungeon. I'd also like to place torches on the wall. Unfortunately, occasionally, I run into a problem. I remember it vaguely from my old days of SMBX, but don't remember if I ever found a solution. Essentially, sometimes the background tile will cover parts of/the whole torch. This is extremely annoying, as it disrupts the design of the level. I understand that some background objects are foreground and some are background, but the random element of the situation bugs me. If you're wondering, the graphic I'm using is the ground background tile from SMW. Thanks in advance -Sock

One solution I can think of is to make a custom version of the torch with the background bricks behind it.

Most of the background objects are like at the exact same layer to put it in and if you save your Level, it might change the background objects foreground shallowing the other way around. I discovered on my very old levels I made while SMBX was like maybe on Version 1.1 (where Yoshis was first included). Try to use a different background/foreground like for example SMB3 black exit, every battle background objects and maybe every inside Waters (not waterfalls) because that is always more at the background and others like SMB Bridge Fences, SMB3 Yellow Bridge Fence, SMB3 Hanging Rope from the sealing that normally connects a Wooden Block (so no SMB3 Castle Rope for the red Lightbulb), SMB3 Propeller pointing up and the insides, SMB3 Quicksand (Fore), SMW Ghost Fences (well, I tecnically can't call them fences), SMW Dark Blue Checkpoint and Goal Post and at last the SM Cable for Mother Brain.

Thanks for the quick replies. I did think of that, KoolKat, but I worried that it would create tiling errors. Seems fair enough, and I think I'll make do. Thanks

I don't think it would make any noticeable errors.

You can however try to make sure that the graphic itself isn't really covering other background objects even know he is on the foreground that is tecnically at the same layer.
